My take on things:
The US has gotten too liberal. After September 11 we need to realize that talks and peace negotiations are not going to get the job done in dealing with certain countries. Iraq is a threat to our country along with Iran. These countries supply terrorists plain and simple. I strongly believe Iraq played a strong role in helping out the Al-Qaeda network. These countries and terrorists simply want nothing but to witness the destruction of our country.
Is it our foreign policy? If I'm not mistaken Saudia Arabia came to us and asked for our support during the Persian Gulf War. They even paid for the war. Now they turn their backs if we need to use their bases and air space in a new war against Iraq??? The Middle East is nothing but trouble. The rest of the countries in the world, besides Britain, turn their backs on us also. France and Germany receive oil from Iraq so we all know if you want to do business with Iraq, Hussein makes sure that these countries DO NOT support the US. He tried it with Australia but they told him to take a hike. There's more to it than meets the eye. We shouldn't be scared, but face these conflicts head on. Diplomacy has changed and the world wants us to grovel and get down on all fours. When the tide turns and these countries are in danger we'll see who they look to for support. I support a President that puts his country first. He understand the consequences of the future if we ignore the problems of today. Clinton is praised for doing a good job while he was President, but this man cut the military and fired a few tomahawk missles at Bin-Laden. Problem solved? It was only the beginning.
Remember we have become the hunted by many of these terrorists groups. September 11 has changed everything. In order to not to see this tragedy occurr again or something worse, such as a chemical or biological attack, we must become the hunters. These terrorists want us to live in fear and be scared to live our normal lives, but we need to turn the tide on them and have them scared and on the run. Bin-Laden hated Iraq at one point, but now they defend this country and threaten further terrorists attacks if the US invades Iraq. Iraq cannot come out in the open and directly say they supported Al-Qaeda because it's a direct ticket to war. But remember September 11., When this country was in mourning people in Iraq, Iran, and these other Muslim countries were dancing in the streets. War is not the answer to everything, but in dealing with these groups and countries Diplomacy will only get you so far.
Remember North Korea pledged and signed a treaty that it WOULD NOT develop nuclear weapons and we all see the results of that now. I DO NOT see North Korea as an immediate threat. I believe this country is only trying to play its hand and has put everything on the table. China is the big brother looking after North Korea and in the end North Korea can he handled through diplomacy.
God Bless America.
