I don't think there is anything wrong with recognizing USC's dynasty. Especially when I was laughed at for predicting it 4 years ago at this site. All documented!
BCS was designed to get the #1 and #2 teams to play. I think that is a good thing and I am a big fan of the BCS. USC vs Texas was great this year.
However, in 2003 (for the first time) AP and Coaches poll both felt USC was the #1 team but USC was not chosen to play in the BCS NC game. NOBODY felt LSU or OU was the #1 team. Both polls had USC #1. At the end of the season, Coaches Poll was
FORCED to vote LSU #1 and AP wasn't forced to do anything and thought USC was the best team in the country in 2003.
People look quite silly and stupid when they discredit the AP Poll. This is the reason AP took themselves out of the BCS formula becuase people are too STUPID to understand it. People act like the AP agreed to vote the winner of the BCS NC game the National Champs. WRONG!

Why wouldn't there still be an AP trophy? Of course there is still an AP trophy. What people don't realize is the AP only allowed the BCS to use their poll, the AP was never PART of the BCS. Every year except 2003 AP agreed that the winner of the BCS NC game was the best team in the country. Last year AP could have voted Auburn #1 and AU would have won a National Championship along with USC. Just like LSU in 2003, nobody felt AU was the best team in the country.
