like i said, i could care less. but i got this off the ncaa website. they list all the champions since 1869. you guys can argue all day about whether or not they are recognized since 1869:

i have neither the will, energy, or care to debate this because maybe there isn't a correct answer. but if you go by the ncaa listing then you can say 12, if not then......

That website counts national titles from about 20 different sources. There has to be a standard of national recognition and conformity, and that is the AP. I'm sure The Philadelphia Inquirer hails a champion every year too, but nobody counts them is my point
