I work from home. I'm a project manager for a software company. It sucks, work is always there and it never goes away. I end up working longer hours than the people in our corporate office.

Six my mom works from the house. I forget what they are called but you might know. She does something with doctor patient reports. She is always in her office typing away with this headset on. My aunt owns the company and she also works from home.
Daughter-in-Law works from home as a residential real estate agent, made 150K last year in Chicago. Chicago's real estate market is still good, one of the few that is.
I own a remanufactured and compatible ink and toner cartridge business in Knoxville. It is a franchise, and I have to have a storefront, otherwise I would work out of my house. 95% of my customers are B2B and there are a couple of good quality suppliers out there. There are a bunch that are sh*t and that is why the business is getting a bad name.
You can especially clean up if you are in a market that is not that competitive, Knoxville is comp. but still enough business to go around.

Guy downstairs from me sells junk on Ebay. Big on old books, trinkets etc. Weekends, he scours Garage sales and Swap meets. Has a digital cam-UPS account, around the house all day, pays his rent on time and has the best of eveything. He even pays State and Federal taxes. There's alot of businesses from home that are profitable. Just make sure you don't put up any front $$$ in a scam.
