Titus go see for yourself I like to go out there and look around.
See where you can get a good deal for a tv that fits your liking and price range.
I personally like sony it may be a bit pricy but it's worth it.
As for as size it's up to you what you feel and what you like.

Good luck

I own a 52 inch Samsung 850 and I really do love it,bought it on sale for 2299 and I would highly recommend it.I went with the LCD not the plasma because I have too much light in my living room.I hear that the samsung 950 is a one bad ass tv too but the price on it was out of my price range.
But it really depends on what you like, get out and take a look at them.

Samsung and Sony are the best two according to Consumer Reports. I just got a 46" LCD Samsung and it's great. Good luck.

I spent a month doing research on all the TV's. I rather buy a car, it's easier. Anyways got the 46" LCD Samsung and it's the best thing I every got. Had it for about 1 1/2 yrs and no issues.

Here is a site I check alot whenever I'm going to buy anything www.dealcatcher.com . Gives you who has the best price at any store or online for any product. Very easy to use to get reviews and prices.

Titus, of couse this depends on how much you want to spend but everyone is saying tvs that should run in this range.

Pioneer is getting out of the tv business but no worries about buying this one. Look at slickdeals.net or fatwallet.com and you should be able to find it for around 1800 delivered. Get the 50" Pioneer Kuro, trust me when I say it's the best. It's the cream of the crop by a long shot.

That's exactly the TV I have...50" Pioneer Kuro Plasma...I researched it to death. Absolutely sick picture. I am going to be buying another one before they stop production. Best black levels on the market. I prefer plasma for sports...even the high end LCDs I still see image blur during fast movements. It just depends on the viewer. Our room doesn't have much sunlight so it's a good fit. Lots of great LCDs though-

I found that after agonizing over this and that with TVs the end result is I'd probably be happy with most any in that price range. Try not to drive yourself crazy over it.

AVSforums are great but sometimes can be a little bit too much information.
