We then went to Tunica for a couple of days

Look forward to seeing you and everybody else at the next get together. :00hour :00hour :00hour

Thanks for the replies everyone.

FL market Sucks!

FL market Sucks!

We've had a second home (condo) on the market for 12 months - only 1 looker....

We bought at the wrong time - I had a job here, but it folded up....

Damned if I'll give this place away - it's on Tampa Bay and has it's own boat dock.

But trying to sell somethin' down here? No chance.

But it is sure nice being down here (as I am now) when it has been snowing nonstop in Wisky since I left (about 10 days ago).

70 and sunny here (during the days of course).

Great time to buy FL real estate in my book -prices are so low they are almost giiving it away - and if you live north of the Mason-Dixon, you don't want to be there during winter.

I'm just sayin'

But with real estate sooo low - don't buy a trailor - you should buy real real estate - prices won't be this low forever....

Mags, funny {not haha} that you brought that up. While I was down there last week, big front page article that Tampa had the biggest drop in property values in the US with two other FL markets in the top 10. The hurricanes of a couple years ago drove the insurance rates thru the roof and people have backed off. It is definitely a buyers market but only if the declining values level off.

Lewe, you may want to look around where he is talking and the Clearwater area has some great prices

Clearwater City, Florida: Too Many Fellow Seniors
This Tampa Bay area hamlet has the highest percentage of seniors of any city in the United States. The 2000 Census found 21% of Clearwater?s population was 65 or older, the highest of any city of 100,000 or more. Floridians as a whole are 17.6% seniors, compared with 12.4% for the United Sates as a whole. With 3.6% of its population 85 and up, Clearwater also has three times the national share of that age group.

The graying of Florida is just one reason many retirees from the Northeast sometimes abandon their first retirement destination for somewhere mid-way up the coast. These ?half-backs? are increasingly turning to the Carolinas, fleeing the bland culture, extreme weather, and high real estate and homeowner?s insurance prices of Florida.
