I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT I LIKE LARRY KING [HIS SHOW IS THE ONLY THING I WILL WATCH ON THE COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK], AND IT APPEARS THAT HIS RATINGS ARE IN THE SAME BALL PARK AS FOX OUT OF ALL THOSE OTHER SHOWS.

NYPD has 9 million a night and there dropping it on ABC. Why they used to have 16 to 18 million. It all cycles. 60 miniutes on CBS has 6 to 8 million every Sunday night.
Imus in the morning has around 400000 on MSNBC in the morning. But he's on radio at same time estmated at over 10 million listerners.
I would say Fox is drawing them now. But like I said this stuff cycles every 3 to 4 years and it will again.
Watch Nancy Grace as more woman find shes on head line news. Shes been there just one week. Shes in the tough time spot. Some woman just don't have time to sit on there ass at that time like us lucky guys. The ones that do will switch from other networks to watch her. Woman seem to stick together. And shows lke O'Rilley can have some subjects that woman could care less about.

I don't know why people don't watch Lou Dobbs. More info in 5 minutes on his show than you get from a whole hour of O'Reilly.

Fox is kicking ass, there's no doubt about that. They are AM radio on TV. Sensationalist, easy answers, and very little insightful content. ....but that's exactly what people want and like.

I think they are popular because they are diff Smurph.Regardless of who is correct you get same slant from all the others so viewers are split.
Don't care for Larry King or any show that gives format of questions prior to interviews.

Oreilly would probably rank 3rd on my fox viewing--I like Smith with the news (non political) and Britt Hume the best--What I like on Oreilly is his intial talking points followed by his preview of topics--and unless there is something of interest will switch over to CSI Las Vegas after talking points.

I think the sharpest guy on fox on anywhere for that matter is Charles Krauthammer a guest speaker on Britt Hume's panel.

i like lou dobbs also....always forget when he is on.

i try to make it my business to watch 3 shows everyday.....& fortunately for me they are on right after one another..........

britt hume...i agree with dtb...very insighful political show.

chris matthews.....don't agree with him on all topics....but like the rapid way he does his show (wife can't stand him...she says he is always yelling (lol))....evnthough he was against the iraq war....he did some great shows on the military...which earned my respect.......

bill oreilly.....also don't agree with everything he says.....but like the way he does his show......people can say they don't like him.....but nobody can deny some of the good work he has done on his show & has tackled subjects that for some reason other shows don't....he is very strong about children's rights & has ripped fla. & it's administration over their mishandling of foster children....he has taken on nambla & their whole sick organization.........

i used to like larry king...but now think that he is over the hill.....now i only watch him if i like his guest....

i find it amusing that people who are either a democratic or who are on the left are always criticizing fox news but don't criticize cnn, cbs, abc, new york times, the l.a. times, the wash. post, the boston globe for some of the stuff these organizations have done to undermine this administration.....

ie...

cnn making a deal with saddam, before the war that if he permits them of having an office in bagdad...they would over look the atrocities he committed.......after that became public the executive who made that deal was dumped by cnn....

cbs news trying to rig this past election with that stuff about bush & the military......the fall out at cbs news about this is still ongoing.....

abc news trying to show bush up during his innauguration...trying to get some stuff on the military & run it during the innauguration...but stopped when it became public....

when i watch the news i split my time between fox & msnbc......but fox news is doing something right....& for some people to just brush it off by saying they have very little content, when actually they basically report on the samething......is typical aof the left wing elitist attitude that has seen them continually lose power in the states & in congress....in other words they don't get it.

like hume and matthews.....ying and yang....don`t like o`reilly...a hypocrite of the first order......

"looking out for the folks"?.....lol....he`s a caricature of conservative media types...almost like limbaugh.....and a moral hypocrite to boot...i laugh at him...

but i occasionally watch his show,i must say...although,i don`t always agree....

i thought the rant on the teacher that murdered her baby due to postpartum depression was way off base...the woman was mentally ill and her friends and colleagues were trying to remember her at the university....not glorify what she did in a psychotic state of mind....he didn`t get it.....that`s scary...

i don`t know how many times he bludgeoned viewers with the phrase "she slit the baby`s throat'...it was pathetic and classless for a professional journalist to stoop to this level to demonize the woman....

it was a tragedy...horrible....we didn`t need o`reilly`s embellishment of the tragedy...he`s a clown...

he should go back to doing what he does best...phone sex and harrassing female colleagues...lol

if he`s the moral standard,we`re all in trouble...

and i`m sooo glad that olbermann is at the bottom of the list...his espn yuppy, sarcastic, condescending attitude is the biggest turnoff on t.v.....

this guy can`t get cancelled soon enough for me...almost unwatchable...

nice post weasel!

AR - Dobbs is on opposite O'Reilly. That's why his rating is so low. Hard to compete with a sensationalist blowhard that everybody loves.

I personally can't stand Larry King. He coddles every guest, even if they are someone vile, like Mark David Chapman.

gw,

the teacher that you are talking about.....is that the one from villanova ?

i think that there is such a thing as post partum depression...that could make a mother do some unspeakable acts.....

i believed that the mother in texas (don't remember her name) wasn't in her right mind when she killed her 4 or 5 children.....

that said...oreilly's point was that villanova shouldn't honor a person who killed her child....& putting a plague with her name on a building is an honor...i agree with that..

ar...we can disagree...i don`t think it was to honor a person that "killed her child"....it was to honor a beloved colleague that had the misfortune to become mentally ill...

i became physically ill listening to "o` hypocrite" repeat the phrase "slit the baby`s throat" numerous times.........wasn`t saying that the woman killed her own child and took her own life enough for the audience to hear?.....this wasn`t some terrorist..it was a pitiable woman who was a productive member of society...and who became mentally ill...this was more a tragedy...than a crime...

reasonable people can disagree on the plaque.....but,o` reilly was trying to demonize the woman....in a cheapshot sort of manner to make his narrow minded point.....he`s become a bomb thrower of the worse kind...with little class...or tact...

and his moral indignation on many issues belies his own moral weaknesses...i may be wrong, but i believe he paid his accuser off....

the guy that thought the discussion of the beheadings of innocents was inappropriate had no qualms about discussing the "slitting of a baby`s throat?.....

i used to respect the guy...now i believe he`s a major league hypocrite...

but,that`s just my opinion...

smurphy......I'm getting a little worried here, I completely agree with something you wrote!!!!!

Larry King is just awful. Sometimes his show is just pathetic, like when he has Michael Jackson or some other minor celebrity felon on......gentle questions that's gives the interviewee every opportunity to show themselves in the best possible light. But then there is the sinister people who have comitted grotesque crimes that King has on to boost his ratings.

Married eight times, addict, he obviously believes even the worst among us deserves more chances.

Good call smurphy. Let's avoid this asshole's show.

O'Reilly doesn't do much for me, but for some reason I quite like Joe Scarborough....not sure why. aslways love it when Ann Coulter turns up though, how much would you like to spank her???

english......isn`t that ass a little to bony for a productive spanking?.....i`d wear a padded glove....

laurie dhue`s downright spankable... and i kinda like donna fiducia in a mature sort of way....

and lis wiehl is kinda cute....even with that strange little nosejob she`s sporting now....that nose wasn`t present during the o.j. fiasco....

btw...i like coulter,too..love her wry sense of humor...she`s very clever.....she`s a bit of a bomb thrower herself,but she`s a straight shooter....i can respect that....

gw,

don't get me wrong....there are things about oreilly i don't like either......

one is that he somehow puts himself into some of the conversations.....in other words if him & a guest are talking about a subject he turns it around to make him the subject matter.....

i also have trouble with his moral indignations...but then again i have trouble with anybody being the public's "moral police".

but as i stated he has done some good with his show......& he does stir debate with his topics...which is good.

englishman,

i also like scarborugh.....maybe because he isn't hesitant to attack the republicans when he thinks they are wrong....

which brings me to sean hannity...can't stand the guy....always thinks the republicans are right......& his sidekick, allan colmes, seems like somebody forgot to tell him that he died...

i hear you ar....i still watch him sometimes....the morality crap is what rubs me the wrong way.....

i agree with some of his positions.....

more importantly,do you think an orthopedic surgeon would be necessary after spanking ann coulter`s bony ass?.......

AR, maybe that's it with Scarborough, also he seems like an interesting high-energy guy without being pompous or superior.

One thing that bugs me about all these channels though is the wall-to-wall coverage of the minor celebs trials....really, how can some freak show like Michael Jackson get so much coverage. Anyway, I suppose they will show whatever people want to watch.....the dumbing down of news journalism.

:mj07: :mj07:

Colmes is perfect for that show. He makes the Left look (literally) horrible. Definitely something they planned.

Yep English - I agree on Larry King and would have no problem whatsoever with his show disappearing. Unfortunately, things are so jacked up that it looks like he's actually the most popular thing on CNN. I guess that figures, given that there's no actual news content on his "program".

More news on a news network = less popularity :mj03:
