And no worries Jack, you'll win as you always do. I am sure you'll be posting 100's of pictures of you hitting straight flushes and quads.

Speaking of "pay lines".........when do you have to pay tax on winnings on Video Poker? Since you are an expert I'd figure you'd know. I know if you put in 50 bucks and win 800 bucks you don't pay tax, but there has to be a number when it won't let you cash out and you have to pay tax right?

So wouldn't it make sense to play below the level where you have to pay tax?

I don't know that answer.

I hit one Saturday where they did the paperwork for taxes and I asked them what the rule is because I hit a 160/1 shot earlier for $5 play ($800) and didn't have to pay the taxes and now I hit the same payout on a $10 play ($1600) and they are filling out the paperwork. WTF? She didn't know the answer either.

In Vegas they don't take the taxes upfront but in Cincinnati they take state taxes upfront, not optional.

Wow, I thought you'd know the answer, if you don't know I doubt anybody knows.

I find it amusing that even the lady didn't know the answer. WTF:facepalm:

I seem to recall in Nevada the number for Video Poker is $1199.99 and lower and you are fine. I may be wrong on that number, but that number rings a bell in my head for some reason.

I know this is wrong thread and a little off topic but I'll say it anyway, in Canada no tax on gambling winnings, so whatever you win, you win. You could hit 99 Royal Flushes in a row and you would never pay tax. Makes things so much easier that you don't have to deal with any of that tax shit.

Then again if you hit 99 Royal Flushes in a row they might arrest you for cheating:lol:

One time I won $16,000 when I won a poker tournament at Bellagio and no tax papers, and another time I won 2nd place in a poker tournament at Horseshoe Indiana for a $3500 win and had to pay taxes. Makes no sense to me.

Any single jackpot win of $1200 or more gets reported and taxed. ...Or at least that was the law a few years ago when I could hit jackpots. But you can easily claim gambling losses up to the amount of your winnings and it ends up being a wash.

If you work your credits up on a machine above that $1200 without hitting a "jackpot" then the tax never comes into play.

I asked around, and someone thought the Jacks or Better versions paid 9/6.

Yeah, I read that at VMB but don't believe everything they say over there. They said that shit about the G and the Plaza and it was total bullshit. Even the host at The Plaza was on there bragging about all the full pay machines and we didn't find one.

You reading some of the current TR's? :scared I'm gonna have to make friends over there. Maybe I'll catch up with BJ and crew this weekend just for the hell of it.

Those trip reports are crazy! That sushi platter stuff sort of freaked me out a bit.

I was ticked when they ripped out that other bar near the book outside of Mesa Grill. I used to love sitting there while the wife shops or is at Qua. The new bar looks so much better. I can't wait to check it out as well as their new poker room.

You need to meet up with BJ and teach those guys how to drink.

Good luck this weekend.

They need to be introduced to 190's.
