LSU ML +225 (earlier ot OLY) nickel
Would've spent 5 or more times as much to be able to go and watch game at the Supe. Don't need any excitment money to watch the game, but figured win or lose it won't make a difference if I was there or not. Might as well put something on it and feel like I did something for the team.
(I know, bad excuse) But what the hell. My dad was attending LSU last time they won the NC, and when I graduated they were pretty bad.
I've been incrementally hopeful last few years as I saw improvement year after year, from Curley Hallman to DiNardo and now to Saban coaching. From Herb Tyler to Josh Booty (geeze) to Rohan Davey and now Mauck at QB. It just looks like the improvement has been gradual but effective. I feel confident in the team. They might not win, hell, they may get blown put, but I'll put my money on them with a degree of confidence this year. Gimme Clayton, Henderson, Schyler Green, Vincent, Addai and Broussard on offense with a big O-line. I'll take Lavalais, Landry, Daniels,Gay, LeDoux. These are no slouches and can beat good teams.
As for the total, I would favor the offenses here. Both teams very quick. I know LSU has several of the quickest WR's in the SEC. Playing in the dome, makes it that more quicker, even with that new stuff they're using as turf. In 2002 LSU played Illinois at the Sugar and scored 47. Granted, a crappy Illinois team but the total was 81 at that game (47 - 34). Lowest total score last 7 years was 38 pts. in '99 (Ohio St. - Texas A&M). Several over 50 even in th 70's. Given the quickness of the teams, gotta like the over 46', in spite of the defenses.
As i write this the ML is down to +185.
