How does Auburn deserve to NOT win this game? They've shut down Nebraska completely in the 2H. Trying to see your reasoning behind this. Is it because you have money on the Huskers?

the 4th down play? how about the 5 or 6 run plays before that .... and then the shovel pass to LOSE yardage and take them out of field goal range. horrible coaching, made worse by the fact that it sets nebraska up for a 1pt ATS loss in a game where auburn shouldnt even have a TD on the board.
They did shut down Nebraska in the second half and scored 14 points off turnovers in the 1st half. One TD was off a bs fake punt and the other was a fluke INT off a tipped pass. Nebraska with more yards, first downs, time of possession, etc...just by watching the game it looked like Nebrasa was the right side but that doesn't always mean they win. If you can't see that Auburn was outplayed then we don't see eye to eye...oh well. :shrug:
My point is that I had money on Auburn and feel mighty lucky to walk away a winner.
1st time in 2007 where I felt like being on the 'right side' didnt equate to cashing the bet.

Was it just me........or was this the most conservative play calling by Callahan all year? Resembled nothing of the true West Coast Offense.......weird
I dont think Callahan is capable of being HC. He definately does not look very smart on the sideline, like not using Taylor more in that last series of play after Auburn's fumble.
He coached himself out of the game the whole day.
Have no idea what those last 4 plays were. He played for the FG and then didn't kick it.
Then, I hate when teams put 11 guys to block a punt. It never works. For one, the punter knows all he has to do is get it away. If theres a guy back there and its a crappy kick, could be a good return. Instead, it just wastes time and lets the ball roll.
Then, at the very end, gotta love the hail mary from 70 yards away. How about trying to get 20 yards, then spike it, then hail mary...i mean, it prob. won't work anyway, but at least its way better strategy.

the fact that he didnt kick the field goal wasnt what made the late-game coaching horrendous.
it was, as you said, the fact that he PLAYED for for field with some amazingly conservative play calling .... AND THEN DIDNT KICK IT. if youre not going to kick the field goal, what the fu.ck are you calling 6 straight runs, and then a shovel pass on 3rd/9. a shovel on 3rd/9 is a call you see when you are trying to be safe and not turn the ball over so you can set a FG up.
then, as you said, the 'rush 11' never works. kicker can just rush a kick and get it 20-30 yds downfield knowing nobody is back there anyway.
and then, again, a 15-20 yd route to the sidelines with 0:09 would have made some sense. that way you can get a heave to the endzone and not the 20 or 30 yd line.
now I know why these coaches can't make it in the NFL sometimes I think college football is such a joke the decision making is awful from half these coaches (mason, spurrier, and this guy) just to name a few and some these teams talent is like watching a lil league tee-ball game............I realy don't know how people can cap these games and make money, to me the only way to cap a college game is split in 2 the first half and 2nd half ex. vtech/minny/nebraska and really this stuff is only entrtaining to watch but not when you have money on the game it drives me nuts every year and I only watch during the bowl season...thats my rant:shrug:
havent bet a bowl game yet, and glad I didnt .. only ones i liked were wisky and mich ... i did a 3 teamer back to lsu -1 and LOU -1 and that will prob lose

Callahan is making progress?? I think not enough for Big Red fans--some terrible play calling in this game. Neb has the best facilities around--their recruiting has fallen of--the B12 N is terrible but think K State catches up to them soon.
