I say Ohio state 24 Florida 20........The BCS wants a team without a loss besides Boise State so they don't have to hear about the "P" word.....and Vegas wants a close low scoring game so they can make their money as well....Just a simple man's opinion

I say Ohio st -7 & under 47

Ohio st have a little better Defense & will pound the ball on Fla.

Defense win game. Look at Balt., they won the super Bowl with defense & no offense.

Good Luck!

Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Ok, Dice, I was going to post a thread to answer a couple of my questions, so I will do it here and then give my take:SIB

1. This stadium is where the Cardinals play, correct? If so, is it grass, and is it in good shape, or dormant painted dirt?

2. How about referees, any idea on who or conference affiliations?

3. Both teams play on grass at home is my understanding?

Weather looks perfect with light winds. I always look for 1-1.5 scores for special teams=7-10 points. Think both offense's have advantages over the others defense, though Ohio St's is greater. Looking at 3-4 touchdowns from Florida and 4-5 from Ohio State. At minimum, we are talking 6 touchdowns=32, +4 field goals(12), + spc teams(7).
So we are looking at a minimum total of 51 points:scared I really believe they're will be more.

Ohio State 45 Florida 23:com:

Hows that Dice:mj07:

I havnt decided on a side but i think the total will go over 47.5. Both teams have alot of big play scoring potential.

Like Ohio St -7, I just think the quarterback difference will play big tonight. Not sold on Leak at all and if they fall behind, he'll start pushing and make a key mistake somewhere. But, what do I know:shrug: Not really sold on the SEC being that much better either. Other than LSU beating a less talented ND, they just haven't impressed me at all. GL tonight everyone.

Franky........thats great, with a little spritz of sarcasm is A OK in my book.......GL tonite

as for the stadium
University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona
The 63,500-seat stadium (expandable to 72,800) opened on August 12, 2006

also, The facility also features the first fully retractable natural grass playing surface built in the United States, designed by Uni-Systems. The field includes all components required for a healthy grass playing field, including irrigation, drainage and an optimized growing surface

as for the officials i have no idea

My original feeling when the matchup was "announced" was FLA + the points.Been hedging all weekend over who to play. It would be nice to be able to watch the first few minutes before i decided but i don't my book is gonna go for that. I have two opions really -

OSU wins by 14+ or aclose game til the end. Gonna stick w/ my original gut feeling and stick w/ the Gators +7' and the Under (hoping for 48).

GL to everyone and i really appreciate the insight and effort put forth by everyone at Madjacks. Can't wait til next season.

PS - Had a really good wknd with the two college games and the NFL so fading me is probly the way to go. GL

Pretty simple but in big games it usually comes down to coaching, and I'll take the T-man!! More afraid of a back door cover after the smoke clears. GLTA

Ohios st -7

I really do not think this game will be close. Ohio St. has won 19 straight and the only game they lost to was to Vince Young. Troy Smith is a big game QB I just don't think Florida is that good they got lucky many times this year. All I hear is how fast FLA is lol Ohio St is fast to!:mj07:

I live in Columbia, S.C. and this angle has historically worked:

If the Gamecocks should have beaten you, you are not a national championship caliber team.

I watched all the Gamecock games this year, and even with the ol ball coach, South Carolina couldn't stay on the field with Ohio State. But they beat Florida in the Swamp everywhere but on the scoreboard.

Based on the Gamecock chicken curse . . .

OHIO STATE crushes Florida 31 -10 !!!

Thinking about picking up the 1st half line FL +4
any thoughts about this number? seems good to me and i would expect FL to keep it close or even be winning at half.

personally, i think ohio st takes this by double digits. i tend to be an avid dog player, but dont mind taking a favorite here and there. here are my reasons for taking the bucks (and in no particular order):

1. While I don't necessarily like Tressel, he is an oustanding college coach. While Meyer is no slouch, I think he's a slight drop-off. Just my opinion. Ohio St. always seems to be prepared.

2. The Gators were 0-4 ATS away from home, as well as on grass. On the other hand, the buckeyes were 4-1 ATS on the road, and a covering machine, in general, going 9-3 ATS this year and 20 out of their last 26. The Gators were a dismal 4-8 ATS this year. Stats backing my thought that Florida may not have that "killer instinct," unlike Ohio St. Florida struggled to put teams away all year.

3. I give Ohio St. a distinct adavantage at the QB position. Many may disagree, but i'm not sold on leak, never have been. I don't think he's a great player, but troy smith is (from what i've seen). Further, I'll take one stud QB over that two-headed monster anyday.

4. Florida's kicker is awful. As long as I can remember, Ohio St. kickers make their field goals.

5. Ohio St. still has a better D, IMO. Although Florida has a very good D, Ohio St's is awesome. I may be wrong, but some of their defensive stats probably looked a little less impressive than they really were, considering the fact that many of the Buckeyes games were blow-outs.

6. Luck. It just seems to me that Ohio St. and Tressel teams seem to "catch the bounces." Maybe, just maybe, its a "you create your own luck" type of thing.

In summary, I am very weary of a capable, talented, fast, well-coached underdog catching 7 in a title game, similar to texas last year (whom I took). But in the end, if you want my two cents, I think its State's year. I dont remember too many teams as good as this ballclub. While, on the other hand, florida did not IMPRESS me all year (even though i know they are a stellar team). Ohio St. looks a notch above.

Good luck to everyone, and thanks to everyone for all the valuable information that you have provided me, us, and each other throughout the year. Lets keep it rolling in b-ball. :mj06:

So Cal
my 2cents ,
Florida comes out swinging , gets a lead , and never looks back. 31-24 Gators.

All the pressure is on HC .J.Tressel & the Buckeye's
I think that everyone has underestimated
Gators HC.U.Meyer . He'll have his team ready.

BTW I'm a PAC10 guy not a Big10 or SEC guy at all.

Has OSU had to play from behind this season?

That's interesting...Maybe you want to call Joe Paterno and let him know that PSU didn't beat OSU last year...

As for the sarcasm, I reread my post, and more like arrogance, but thats just me:sadwave: :mj08:
J/K....
Good info, sure it will be in great shape then, the field that is. Not so sure about the officials:brows:

From another site, with some fellas right down at the stadium, they see 2/3 Ohio State fans?.....

GL all,

I already chimed in another thread on my vote on the over. Big time players all over the field with speed out the wazoo. OSU sets up the run with the pass. Ginn will touch the ball 10-15 times tonight and he is a threat everytime he touches the ball.

I kind of think it will be kind of like Texas/USC last year...but FLA doesn't have Vince Young.

I really think OSU will get up and not look back. Forcing FLA into a completely one-dimensional offense, relying only on reverses for their run game. Simple fact is if they (OSU) doesn't turn the ball over, they will win by 10+. If they do turn it over, it shouldn't be too many times not to cover the 7. The layover and the flukey way they turned the ball over against Michigan is reason for the concern (i.e is the dream about over?). But, a lot more seasoned players on OSU, that are used to the spotlight, and AZ is home away from home. OSU 34 Florida 16

If the over hits, I'll probably have to wait until 1 am for it to go over.

Lastly, take all of this with a grain of salt. A true reflection of how my FB gambiling went this year was seen on my biggest play of the bowls. Over 56 in the LSU/ND game, landing on 55 and we all know how that went.
