Calling Indiana etc Crew...Caesars vs Belterra

Fellas-

Typically I go to argosy because it's close by to cinci (35 mins). A few of us were thinking of heading to either caesars or belterra in a couple of weeks. If we went to belterra we probably wouldn't stay the night, but would if we went to caesars. Is it worth 3 bills a night to go down to Louisville? I'm a craps/BJ player primarily, my buddy plays mostly poker.

And yea, I would say it is def worth going to Caesars. It is FAR better than the other 2.

Yeah i was pretty damn surprised. It wouldn't be as bad to split w/ a few guys (insert gay jokes here) but I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

They must have a big poker tourney or something going on. $300 is outrageous for a riverboat! If interested I can give you my casino hosts name and #. She may help you out.

The wsop is from oct 18th thru nov 2nd that is why the rate is so high.

There is a holiday inn and hampton inn right off of the exit that should be around 80 a nite.

I am actually heading to caesars tonite to play in the midnite $80 tourney and then in the $40k freeroll tomorrow afternoon.

Saint, went about a month ago and the hotel was booked so I got on Hotwire and got a room at the Hyatt right in downtown Louisville for $89! Only a 20 minute drive max and a 4 star hotel. It is right next door to 4th Street Live, alot of restaurants, bars and live music:00hour

$300 a nite is crazy

from downtown cincy belterra is 50 min. & ceasars is 1 hr 45 min.
with 4 players u should be able to get a large portion comped
ceasars does have poker tourny as count said but... if belterra says there full ask about oval house, hotel in vevay ind they bought & will shuttle

I didn't realize the rates were due to the wsop. I checked a few weeks out when I first looked and they were all 300$...i figured they must get that all the time :shrug:

I think we'll probably just head to belterra this time and save caesars for another time. If so we'll just drive for the night...too close to really stay unless I'm up a lot I think there's a jeff rubys too..maybe we'll hit that up.

Free drinks at belterra, or will I be paying 5$ for a beer like at argosy?

Saint........was at the Argosy this weekend. My God was the blackjack play horrible. I saw a little bit of everything. Playing on a $25 table, two different times someone comes up and buys in for $30.00. :142smilie

I love going there and playing but man it can be painful sometimes. Early in the day, had a guy come up and ask the dealer if they had any baccarat tables. He's standing right beside me, I look over and he's got a string of snot hanging out of his nose and its attached down by his lip. It's just kinda swinging there.......I glance at my wife because I know if she sees it, we're in trouble :mj07: Sure enough, she spots it and starts laughing and of course, I have to join in because it's about the funniest thing I've ever seen. To the dealers credit, she kept a straight face the whole time. My wife asked her how she could stand there looking at him and not laugh. Her response was "nothing that I see here surprises me anymore." It was some very funny chit..........

Saint, I think u will like belterra , it is very isolated but very nice casino. If you don't like poker stay away from ceasars til after 1st week of November.

Just got back from the donkathon today, Ceasars had a 40k freeroll, most people i have ever seen in one tournament there before, it was like 1700 or 1800. Funny thing was they could only seat 530 off of the start of the event, so over 1,000 alternates, talk about a mess:mj07: Heard the floor manager doing some cattle calling to herd everyone in a certain direction. Seen some of the guys come in with the blinds high as their stacks. So basically it was an allin event. 15 min blinds, $1,000 in chips. You had a slight advantage in winning this over a winning a state lottery, LOL!! Overall it was a fun day, but damn they don't know how to run these events.

I am going back for sure to play in the tourney on the 29th and 30th, got off of work for them. If i get time i am going to get back for next weeks tourneys. Oh by the way they are rebranding ceasars to a horseshoe, big surprise by harrahs.
