Not that it's happened a lot, but I think I revert back to my high school days when I have to deal with the principal/teachers.

My boy comes home and says he got in trouble in school and I needed to call the principal, so I did. At this point I'm sure we both wish I hadn't, ugh....

Short of the story.

Me: Hello my son told me to call you and discuss what happened today.

Principal: It appears the kids were misbehaving and Mrs. X told them to put their heads on their desk and be quiet.

Me: OK, seems silly for 7th graders, but I don't think this warrants a phone call.

Principal: Well you son didn't have his head the whole way down and Mrs. X warned him about it and apparently he called her a derogatory name.

Me: What did he call her?

Principal: I'm not sure it's relevant, but he called her a dumb bitch from what I understand.

Me: I've dealt with Mrs. X in the past and I agree, she is a dumb bitch.

Principal: <silence>

Me: Is there another problem?

Principal: Well, we simply can't tolerate that kind of disrespectful behavior.

Me: I agree, the dumb bitch needs to get more creative with her punishment than making them put their heads down. They are teenagers after all. I would write her up if I were you.

Principal: No, No, you misunderstood me.

Me: No, I didn't misunderstand you. I'm hoping you have more sense in your head than the idiot teachers you employ over there.

Principal: Please ask your son not to use that kind of language or be insulting to the teachers.

Me: OK, I'll "ask" him, better yet I will "tell" him not to do it, but if your expecting me to punish him for hitting the nail on the head you going to be disappointed.

Small talk ensues about him possibly being suspended if it happens again and that he will get detention for this time etc.....

You really cannot be this dumb and have had this conversation. Kids become a product of their environment. You sir, are an environmental hazard all unto yourself.

Nice.

I had to go home and tell my dad to call a couple of times. He told me to tell them they could call him if they wanted to talk.

I was gonna go that route, but I figured it would be worse for him going in tomorrow leaving it unresolved.

I'm not certain I resolved anything, though.

Don't have a dumb bitch as a teacher?

Actually, my son says he didn't say it so I'm taking the easy way out and told him if I hear of it again then he's getting it twice as bad next time.

I guess you could say he's on a suspended sentence right now.

Seriously though, what kind of teacher tells teenagers to put their heads down for acting out?

Love how the teacher is the villian here. It doesn't matter what she told him to do he should do it because he should have respect for adults, and teachers.

Kids behavior mirrors what they are taught at home.

And we wonder wtf is wrong with kids.
