I had a similar experience on a camping trip one summer. We had just finished eating next to our open fire pit when my drunk ass lost my balance and stepped directly on the hot coals while barefoot. The whole bottom of my foot instantly turned into a huge blister. Needless to say, I could not walk on it for about a week. I just had to drink more that night to help ease the pain since we were all pretty drunk and out in the middle of nowhere. I learned my lesson, no more barefoot drinking around a campfire.
