Can the Twins Survive the Indians??

At the All-Star break the Twins were 5 games ahead of Cleveland. As of this morning the Indians are percentage points in first place. The Twins had a teriffic first half. The question is can they keep it going or will the Indians blow by them??

There has been a lot of talk about fading Seattle in the second half. Let's look at the Twins stats since the All-Star game and compare them to the Indians.

Offensivly the Indians have hit 137 HR and scored 557 runs. The Twins have hit 100 HR and scored 474 runs. The Twins strength has been in their pitching. If thier pitching doesn't hold up they are toast. The Indians won't be out hit. They can be out pitched.

Should we be fading the Twns???

I am a huge Twins fan and feel that I have a good pulse on the team. Here are my thoughts:
I would expect the Twins to fall a good 3 to 4 games behind Cleveland the next 2 weeks. They finish up in Oakland today, go to Seattle for a series (and we saw how well the Twins played at home against the M's) and then finish with a series at Toronto. That's a tough stretch. If you are going to go against the Twins the this road trip will be the time. SS Guzman is also out.
Now the good news for the Twins. After the Seattle series they do not play a team w/ a winning record (as of today, W/ the exception of the Angels 1 game over believe)the rest of the year. Unbelievable!
At the beginning of the year I had recommended to the forum the Twins over 71 wins (a Lock) and the Twins to win the division at 25-1. In my Humble opinion I will collect on both of these. GL whatever you do.

You make sonme good points. If you look at the average records of the teams that the Twins and Indians play from here out, the Twins opponents are at a .485 percentage on average. The Indians have a tougher schedule playing oppenents that average .518. The Twins have a good young team. The intangable will be what happens over the next few weeks. The Twins are in for a rough road over the next two weeks. If they don't do well can they come out of it. Will their pitching hold up. In my opinion it is their pitching that will pull them together. For years the Indians have outscored everyone. Their pitching has been terrible for over 6 years now. Power offenses are exciting, but pitching wins!!! If the Twins pitching fails them the Indians will blow right by. The Indians and Twins have to play each other 12 more times this year. It should be fun.

I think Cleveland will make a big deal and land a good pitcher, then win this division by 5 or 6 games.
