this guy was a miserable failure with jets, who with decent coaching we see are a playoff team this year. That was the most ill prepared team I have seen for a playoff game. Maybe instead of having dinner with the opposing coach, he should have been preparing his team in meetings or something. Who has ever heard of dining with the opposing team before a playoff game?? I'm sure Lombardi and Hallas practiced that Frequently.

Haha, Vinnie, that's funny, but I'm serious. I remember once in Boston coupled years back, Manny Ramirez went to visit player named Wilson on the Yankees, a guy who Manny played with years ago in Cleveland, everybody went crazy saying "who visits the enemy during a playoff series, and Manny was on the disabled list.

Further, this team got 0 first downs in the entire first half, and went 1/12 in third downs for the game. Colt Defense is terrible, Chiefs made them look like Baltimore.

Ok weasel, the sentence was supposed to read " or does he get to stay on again simply because he is a African American." But IT COULDN'T FIT. NOW you fellows think Kansas City looked prepared today, who would you hold responsible?

Irregardless of the "black" comments. that was one of the worst perfomrances I have ever seen. He will not get fired but ought to be ashamed of himself.

i was never an edwards fan...but kc gave the jets a #3 draft choice(always thought that was a terrible trade)...so kc has too much invested in edwards to dump him after one year. they also have to give him a chance to mold the kind of team he wants. that said, i think green is definitely gone.

I take back my other comment. You are still funnier than Sponge.

Help me smurph because your the only one who understands the guy. Can i get your email from jack so i can send you one of his ramblings? I will ask you a question or about 500 of them when i break down the post he writes . Most of his words are so far over my head i feel embarassed to read them. I think if i look them up they might be way above mr websters head too. I like the fawker tho. When it comes to boxing i can understand every word he types. he reminds me of one of those guys that carries that buzzer around for when he shakes hands He also reminds me of the type of guy that we all could be having a blast at a party and then all the sudden i look at you and ask "hey smurph were in the heck did weasal go?" Then i see you down the road and ask you if you ever knew where he went.

Al, your pretty on target, Kansas City gave jets #4 round pick which they used on Leon Washington. Woody Johnson would have given him away for nothing anyway. Parcels left the Jets totally stacked with talent veterans when he briefly retired. Edwards quickly turned in 10 & 12 loss seasons.

Sham the problem with Edwards is Dick Vermeil. I love Vermiel but he has two major flaws. 1. he will stick with a quarterback no matter how bad he is doing. Remember when he cried about Trent Green getting hurt? I have seen some of the most brutal games a quarterback can play but Vermiel will refuse to pull them. I have seen him doing a college game and when a coach pulls out a quarterback who is having a terrible day Vermiel trashes the decision. Vermeil has clout and he basically appointed Edwards. I think Edwards learn this from Vermiel. In Edwards defense he did almost bring the Jets to the superbowl but i don't like him. One thing i have to disagree with you on is the black thing because boy are their some terrible white coaches who repeatedly get jobs over and over again. To me some black coaches have a gripe about this. If Jim Mora gets a job again and im an up and coming black coach i would be pissed. Vermiels clout in KC might be what keeps Herm there. I hope Herm learns how to talent evaluate like Vermiel or Kc is in trouble.

SD, I don't follow NBA as closely as I used to,but if that happened, I guess you got me there. I would argue football is a little different than basketball, but who knows?

shamrock...

i agree with you...halas & lombardi must have rolled over in their graves when they heard that both coaches went out to dinner the night before a big game.

He gets the Denny Green pass which buys him at least two more years. Coupled with the fact Denny was fired he gets an additional one year.

Its a joke in any color. The only thing that would have been better was seeing KC get "kicked" from the playoffs by the Jets. hermie bolted on them Nick Sabin style!

They portrayed this dinner thing, like it was so special for the 2 African American coaches to unite before the game, but this is football, give me a break. Kansas City was pitiful, and Edwards should be called out.

Hey, I think there should be more minority coaches if there qualified. L SMITH, should be commended on a awesome season, even being handicapped with no quarterback. But people shouldn't be given a pass because of race alone. Romeo crennell did a great job in New England as defensive coordinator, but he is failing miserably in Cleveland as the HC.

AND IF TOM CAUGHLIN s giants have a effort resembling Kansas City tomorrow against Philadelphia, I would say he should definitely be fired also. That team has way to much talent to perform the way they have this season so far. Only way he deserves to stay is to win couple of playoff games.

i agree that kc appeared to look highly unprepared sicne thery looked inept at virtually every facet of the game. that being siad, that might have been ther worst display of pass catching i have seen. although most of the drops were two yarders on a 3rd and 10 but that was unreal. i think i could catch better in the backyard when i was 12.
