went to my mothers house on my lunch break

she watches my daughter during the summer (teacher), and today she had my two older nieces there as well.

the three girls are ages:

11
10
3 (mine)

as I walk In the house at 1230, my mother is sobbing...

first thing I think was, oh fuck what happened.

as I start to survey the room, I see all 3 kiddos healthy and happy....

wrapping paper all over.

as many of you know from the looks of the threads near the top of the general forum, today Is Canada day.

my grandmother who passed 2 years ago from cancer, after she had beaten breast cancer 4 years prior was from Canada. she moved to the states when my mother was born. my grandmother was 24 when she moved here to give my mom a better life. their relationship was one of the ones that people envy. closest two people in the world.

often times we would vacation to Canada so my grandmother could return home with her family. my two elder nieces were a part of this often, and my daughter once when she was a newborn.

anyways, the three grandchildren, with no prompting at all, (no clue how they knew it was Canada day), made 3 different colleagues of photos from our vacations and of my deceased grandmother (moms mom). they surprised my mom with them, and literally not one single adult knew it was happening.

I was blown away. speechless. the fact that these children, whom most people say are creatures of selfishness, which often times children are, took times out of their day to do this for my mom, well that is what makes my life all warm and fuckin fuzzy :toast:

happy Canada day all, and god bless children everywhere and their innocence :toast: fuck I am such a proud dad right now :0074

sorry to clutter this shit up with another Canada thread
