Canisius - over Brown ****
Griffs are 1-8 and the most disappionting team in the MAAC.Preseason polls had them 3rd in conf. But they are 1-1 in conf beating Siena by 17 pts.Griffs lost to Buffalo,Bonnies,Peter,FDU,Hartford, etc. Not power houses by any means.Lost a tough one to Detroit by away and then played West Vir a few days ago.
Well Griffs almost beat them in front of a sellout WV crowd. They lost 80-68 but with 49 seconds left it was a 6 pt game 74-68.WV hit for 6 str FT's to end the game.
Downey is one of the best gds in the MAAC[tops in the nation in FT%].Wilson is a slasher and scorer.Harris can shoot.Think they have a solid team that will be in the middle of the conf run.
Brown is pretty bad.Huffman is there only scorer avg in DD's with 10 pts. .He is 15-60 from the 3.Thats 25%. Ruscoe is pretty good. There not big, slow and just beat Army by 2 here at the Point.Lost to Navy,Md E-Shore,Albany,etc
The are not a good rebounding team and can't shoot FT's.
I think the Griffs can get a road win here and then have Marist on Thur.

Be back later with
Iona-Fresno
Pacific-Texas AM
Mich-Ind

Box-Man, kinda like your "Griffs" if you get my "Drift".
Looking @ Tigers too.They should "Drown"A&M(probably
worst 10+0 team in the country) in the "Pacific". GL

WVU game

WVU game

my friend who was at the WVU game said Griffs were down by 28 in that game when WVU put subs in. That doesn't sound like they gave WVU a good game.

Michigan + over Ind *
Like the Mich gds in Horton and Abram.Sims,Harris are tough.Ind has dominated the past 10 yrs but I think this is one of the best Mich teams in years.Ind can shoot though. Ind wins by 5 or 6.

Pacific - over Tex AM **
AM is 10-0 and has stayed home and played a lot of cupcakes. But Gillispie is a good coach and his kids do play tough defense.Pac beat Fresno by 36,and WKU.Maraker at 6'9 can score and rebound.Pac has 3 solid gds and all can stick the 3.Jones and Law are avg DD's.But I think playing one of your 1st rd games and out in the left coast will give Pac a win.

Fresno - over Iona *
Tough game to capp. Both strengths are there gds.Front court are weak for both teams.Burtt and Solivar are outstanding for Iona but Hosley and Coleman are equal or a notch better.Hosley is a 6'5 F/G that can score and rebound.Fresno has a few other gds that have decent size and can matchup with the Iona counterparts.I'll take the home team here.Ruland is always good for a minus pt two.Lets pray that no one from Iona gets in trouble on this trip.So far no Iona players have been suspended yet.I think they already broke a record.

ODU - over NC Wilma *
ODU plays great defense.Has Loughton inside and some scorers.Wilma is coming off a whipping at ECU the other nite.Small play.

Canisius over Brown..still like that play. Best play..

Taxman, when I capp I always look at teams last 2 or 3 boxscores.I know your friend went to the game but Pittnoogle played 37 minuts for a career high in pts.Herber and Gansey played 35 and 36 minuts and Gansey I believe he hit the last 6 FT's.
Griffs coach worked with Belien for yrs so the two were friends. But it was close at the end.I'm sure WV coasted with a huge lead but the big 3 played most of the game.

Worm they hung on.Macdonald got an extension this yr.I knew he was on the hot seat. He's in my NY State Bask Assoc.Actually he represents all the D-1 coaches in it.A great guy.I think they will get better as the season moves on.But he's got a tough one vs Marist this week.

Bohawk...lol ..tell me about the color of the "gulf" as I look out at my window right now with 8 inches of snow.I can retire in June but I'm loving my new position.Plus with 2 kids in college and a junior in HS I might have to stay for a couple more.
But So Padre sounds great.I've been to North padre many times.Aransas Pass, etc. My daughters boyfriend comes from Corpus.I would love to retire somewhere there. But my wife likes Austin. What you do is great.Go for 3 or 4 months. That is what I want to do.
Take care. can you swim or is the water to cold? Just wondering..

Box-Man Walked down the beach 1/2/mile to "Boomerang B Billys "
where they had the annual PolarBear dip Jan 1st.Over 200 people
of all shapes,sizes,7ages had to jump in the Gulf for a libation&
blackpea soup. However weather was sunny, temp 75, & water
temp was 68 degrees. LY,however, Temp was about 50 Degrees
outside & water about same.Only about 50 people went in then.
Weather so far great 70`s & 80`s. Lots swimming in Condo`s pools.GL & keep "Capping".
