The posts from Weezil (the sky is falling) and DTB (the Dems are divided) were predictable. Neither have read a single page of the 1200 page bill but both are convinced it's just another liberal conspiracy to bring down this nation.

The reason 44 Dems voted against the bill is because some Dems believe the bill isn't progressive enough and it's been watered down to try to garner votes (What else is new?). Without having read the 1200 hundred page bill myself, I can only say that in principle, I'm in favor of a bill that supports clean energy and is designed to reduce CO2 emissions by 17% by 2020 and by 83% by 2050. But unlike Weezil and DTB, I'd actually have to read the billto know whether I could support it or not. ;)

If you really are- then do your part --In case you don't know--co2 is what you exhale ever time you breath.

In stead of trying to tax farmers cows for farting--you liberals might consider holding your breath--would be better option IMO as cows can't vote. :)

Not that I expect a response from a hit & run poster like you, but who's "they"?

If you`re not sure who they are ( NBC ABC CBS NY Times Wash Po ,etc ) you are feeding from the trough.

but, anybody that`s even remotely cogent understands that enacting any cap and trade scheme that doesn't at least include china and india is just so much pointless economic suicide on our part...
Pointless? Typical Republican defeatist attitude.

It's our duty to lead the world into the green revolution. It's true that China has finally overtaken the U.S. in total CO2 emissions, but on a per capita basis, we Americans are still far and away the largest producers of CO2 emissions in the world.

2006 CO2 Emissions Per Capita
(Metric Tons)

United States - 19.8
Japan - 9.8
Former Soviet Union - 9.1
Europe - 8.0
Middle East - 8.0
China - 4.6
Central/South America - 2.5
India - 2.1
Africa - 1.1

You have no credibility. You're simply a contrarian to anything Obama.

Thats why I've tried to stop being angry at some of these fools. They are hillbilly idiots. Just sheep being led to the slaughter in life. You just have to shake your head at them. Hopefully they will figure it out. Turn the knob, then pull.

Can't say I'm mad at him--just don't have much confidence in someone who couldn't run their own finance--being a dead beat debtor in his 40's and needing "the fixer" to get him a house.

We hillbilly's put more faith in results than rhetoric and tend to prefer to deside our own fate than rely on gov from cradle to grave.

--and on figuring it out and liberals shaking their heads--

This ole hilly billy will take that into consideration when he's filling up with "free" gas for the next 4 years and ya all are crying "help me Gumby help me" :)

on the cap and tax-- a simple paragraph (no hype-opinion or speculation) and "fact" all might want to consider---on who's looking out for you.

From WSJ The Cap and Tax fiction

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124588837560750781.html

Even as Democrats have promised that this cap-and-trade legislation won?t pinch wallets, behind the scenes they?ve acknowledged the energy price tsunami that is coming. During the brief few days in which the bill was debated in the House Energy Committee, Republicans offered three amendments: one to suspend the program if gas hit $5 a gallon; one to suspend the program if electricity prices rose 10% over 2009; and one to suspend the program if unemployment rates hit 15%. Democrats defeated all of them.

you have to remember Obama and the liberals are trying to ruin our country from the inside. I still think Obama is a hired gun by radical muslims. I just can't figure him out, each time he runs his mouth we are spending more money on bullshit programs, ie cap and tax. Global warming is a hoax, does not even exist, a figment of Algore's imagination, yeah he got rich off of STUPID people who believe in all the bullshit. Hopefully it is only 3.5 more years of O and we get someone with common sense to run this once great country, who is somewhat CONSERVATIVE.

You are rad dude. Ralph in your avatar.

Live a little bit.

Do you know anything about the climate bill, energy policy, global warming, anything at all on this subject? Or are you just here to troll?

Btw... I voted for Ralph in 96, 00 and 04 because even on his worst day, he's a better man than most politicians will ever be. But I doubt a little troll like you knows anything about him.

The depth of your stupidity truly defies any logical explanation.

"the chances of 15% unemployment and a potential total collapse of our economy because of the unsustainability of all these big government programs in such a short period are real possibilities as long as these morons remain in power..."

weasel, everyone on this board understands that you do not work, and have not for a long time. But if you did, and were in business, you would understand how completely retarded this statment is.

If you had $845 billion of your own money on the line, do you think you would be combing through this thing tooth and nail? You betcha.

Yeah, we are talking about a bill that is going to cost us $845 billion (absolute minimum/ probably more) ... But it's the taxpayers ... it's your grandchildren that will eventually suffer.

You guys don't have plans for your money and you know it. You would much rather give it all to government, after all you didn't work for any of it to begin with. (RIGHT?) So kwitcherbitchin?

And I would be willing to bet not one House member has read and understands the entire thing.

This is one of the most aggravating things that occur in Washington, and it's considered business as usual! We need a law that no one votes on anything they haven't read. (Proof must be in a form of a test or make them read it out loud)

If they vote on it...and never read it, shouldn't they be impeached for incompetence/malfeasance?

But to me, it?s just like most of the other things they do, this is about power. Power over your pocketbook. Power over your life. They're going to take a naturally occurring function of everyday life and tax it. Well, more accurately .. they're going to lay claim to something that is essential to human life, something that is essential to the very operation of our economy, and then they're going to sell it to us. Believe me, if these same power-hungry cretins could lay claim to the very air that we breathe, and then sell it back to us, they would do it.

wtf are you idiots talking about?

"According to the CBO, the climate legislation would cost the average household only $175 a year by 2020."

the source: Wall Street Journal

fucking morons.

Amazing, only three sentences after the one you selected from the WSJ article is this:

"A closer look at the CBO analysis finds that it contains so many caveats as to render it useless."

businesses,my man..passing on the expense they will shoulder....

it goes right back to the consumer....that is if they don`t relocate overseas....

all this energy we have access to...clean coal, oil shale, oil reserves off our coasts.....we have the wherewithal to build nuclear reactors but we don`t.....we have the cleanest manner of extracting these resources....a much better record than russia, china and india...

yet the absolute idiots in congress...following the lead of a president who`s never in his life run a business.....are stopping us from utilizing our own natural resources in the interest of global warming?... ...or,what is it today?...climate change?.... while the burgeoning powers laugh at us.....

go nuclear,iran.... we here in the united states will be pursuing windmills.......as china and india become more and more powerful,we`ll be following the failesd policies of spain and denmark....

Weezil and his kind are shills for the upper-class Jabbers. They're under the delusion the upper-class gives a shit about job creation, healthcare, education and the quality of life of the middle and lower classes.

The upper-class see any government enterprise beyond the Defense Department as unecessary socialism and any government oversight or regulation as an infringement of their God-given right to exploit the working class and natural resources of this country for their personal profit.

The corporate fat cats, the Wall Street bankers and their mouthpiece politicians have convinced their middle-class shills that there's something in it for them -- they call it trickle-down economics... LOL.

you guys tell me....does this make common sense?....

1)the economy's suffering, so let's "help it out" by taxing the crap out of businesses and choking off its fuel supply!.....

2)the national debt is out of control...i know!... let's "solve" that by coming up with more ways to spend ever more insane amounts of money!....

3)third world countries run by despots and theocracies that value death more than life are working on icbm`s..i know what to do!.....let's stop working on missile defense! ...THAT should keep us "safe"!...

sure....that makes sense...:banghead:
