It has been a monstrous week for the CapMan as the record has soared over .500 and the units continue to pile up. I promised a hot streak and it showed up yesterday. Here is today's slate in efforts to reach 65% by season's end
Update
Record 83-62
+9.36 units
Win %- 57%
Mets/Cubs under 11 -120- winner
1.20 units to win 1.00 units
I don't care if the wind is blowing out 100 mph, the Mets can't hit. They have a lineup of slap-hitting infielders and OF's that K too much. Cubbies will pitch around Piazza if they are smart. Mets get no more than 4 runs today. Leiter for years has been the 1 Met that can put an end to a losing streak. He will keep them in the game. But the Cubbies have too much firepower. One mistake and the game is over. I can't imagine the pressure of pitching in that type of environment. Trailing by 1 run must feel like 10 runs for the Mets.
Braves/Marlins over 7.5 even- winner
1.50 units to win 1.50 units
Braves smoke lefties and Dontrelle will not be perfect all season. Thompson is capable of letting up 5 himself. Too many HR hitters in this game for such a low total. Dontrelle is capable of knocking in a few himself. My favorite play thus far today.
Boston -105 - Winner
1.05 units to win 1.00 units
Yankees have given me no reason to back them. I put NO faith in a pitcher that made his name pitching in ZERO pressure games in Montreal. Now the weight of NY is resting firmly on his shoulders. Keep in mind Boston TAGGED him in his first start and if it wasn't for an ABSOLUTE BULLET inning ending double play liner to first, Javier would not have made it past the 4th inning. Boston's confidence grows everyday and they do not fear any Yankee out of the pen with the obvious exception of Mariano, who threw 40+ pitches yesterday. Pedro has proven that he can step up in this environment. Vasquez has not and no one is hitting for the Yanks. That's a lot of pressure to throw on a pitcher with 3 days rest. Don't bet on the uniform, but with your head on this one...just my thoughts..
Tigers -130- Loss
1.30 units to win 1.00 unit
Tigers are a cash cow. Everyone hits in their lineup. And the Indians stink. No lead is safe with their pen. Johnson either unhittable or terrible. Let's look for unhittable today after a few awful starts.
Jays -120
1.80 units to win 1.50 units- Winner
This line makes no sense. Cy Young vs a bum. Jays gained some confidence yesterday. Do not let Roy's record fool you, he has been filthy in every start.
Mariners -145- loss
1.45 units to win 1.00 units
For the simple reason, John Wasdin has no business starting a game that does not have AAA in the header.
