i have an 1993 Jeep Cherokee, and i am having problems with my Neutral safety switch. A friend of mine was over the other day and he was playing around with the iginition when it was in park and it started! Now i am back to having the car not turn over again. Maybe i am missing something? I tried everything to giggle the automatic stick in park and in neutral and my car will not turn over. Maybe i am missing something simple.

BTW-i know this is the problem. All my light and radio turn on. Everythign except the engine.

i did not put a new neutral safey switch in yet. I found it that the problem was recalled a while ago. Hopefully i can get it to restart one more time so i can drop it off there.

Yeah i have 142,000 milles on it. Lots of problems. I can' tname something i have not fixed. i would never recommend a jeep to any1. Maybe new, but i have only had it for about 30g mile.s

if you give me the last 8 #-s of the vin , i can let you know if there are any OPEN recalls that have not been done, i can do it rite away. and yes hi-mileage jeeps are nitemares. new they are fine ,if you keep it a long time from new you should put on aFACTORT warranty,

Find the Neutral safety switch. Take the post wires going in and the post wires going out . Disconnect them, use small wires of the same gauge to connect them together bypassing the sensor completely. You will probably have to clamp inserts on the wires but it will only be temporary. Should get you started.

OR you can use crimping wire splitters to bypass the sensor but you have to make sure you have the exact gauge wire and this could cause the switch to fry if you dont do it well.'

I would suggest the first

yes they i got a letter for a recall. I have a 1993 grand cherokee. Thanks for the help guys
