Car Question

If your car starts, but is taking longer than usual, is that a battery issue? My battery is only two years old. I think it is a POS, but am wondering whether this is more a sign of a battery going or a possible starter issue. In the past (in other cars), if my battery died it was just dead - it didn't give any warning.

I've got to take it in to get aligned, anyway, but am wondering if anyone has an opinion of whether it's more likely the battery or the starter (or something else?). If it's the battery i'd rather just replace it with a good one than wait for it to die.

Sounds like the battery, but it could be as simple as loose connections. Make sure they are all tight and clean...

Kelly - If you have an AutoZone where you live they will perform a free test on your battery, alternator/generator and starter. It's the best way I know of to find out exactly where the problem is.

Bad - It's turning over more slowly. It caught and sputtered for a couple of seconds. I waited a minute or so, and it begrudgingly started. That was Sunday. It's still starting, but not its normal self.

Zorba - Thx for that advice - that's where I bought it. I may do that tomorrow as it's near where I live and can at least give me the answer. You guys know how it is the second you walk in the dealership...

Scott - thx for making me laugh. It's more like the second option - the catchity....

I think in the a.m. I will try Zorba's suggestion. Money is not an issue, I just don't want to deal with the aggravation of getting stranded....
