Looking at buying a new ride and have it narrowed down to the Nissan 350 or Mazda RX8.

Anyone here have any advice/knowledge on the two?

Input appreciated.

Amsoil is the best synthetic oil you can purchase, the oil your car manufacturer or oil refinery doesn't want you to know about, do a search for amsoil to find out more. As far as the car I would talk to someone in the service or parts dept to find out problems they have experienced. And bottom line I would not purchase any model in it's first year of production. I also would avoid a lease and as Snake says don't let yourself get locked into one deal and one dealer keep your options open.

I personally prefer Toyota/Lexus over all the rest of the imports with Honda/Acura coming in second. But I no longer am an authority on these performance types.

If I had to choose between those two, I would go with the 350Z since it has been out in NA long enough to get some of the bugs out of it. Anyone who tells you that a totally new car for the NA market doesn't have a few bugs to work out of it is pulling your chain with a F350. Most imports offer better options and better reliability on the second year of sales. If you don't believe me, ask someone who has purchased a first generation BMW or Toyota. Your case in point, the 350Z convertible is new this year even though the car was designed with a convertible in mind. ;) . Truth be told, I prefer the lines of the G35 coupe more than than the tacked on look of some 350Z components (eg front sidemarkers) even though they are essentially the same car. Nice to have a choice between the two either way; must have been a good season. :) Hell, what do I know as a 20 year car fanatic and correct speller at 4 a.m. :moon:
