BOSTON RED SOX -105 - I would not be surprised if the Red Sox end up being a home underdog, as this game has been bet all the way down from an opening line of Boston ?125. The betting public is understandably enthralled with Williams? Major League leading 1.99 ERA. However, keep in mind that this Boston offense dwarfs just about any National League team that Williams has faced. The Sox have been especially tough here at home, where they are 18-9 and averaging 6.15 runs per game. Also, Boston has just murdered right-handed pitchers at Fenway Park, hitting a hearty .309 against them! Kim pitched well in his first start for the Bosox, allowing just 1 run and 5 hits in 7 innings. He also had a Quality Start vs. St. Louis earlier this season while with Arizona, allowing 3 runs and 5 hits in 7 innings. Kim has faced the Cardinals many times in relief as well, and he has a career 3.12 ERA with a very good 1.21 ratio in 17.1 innings against them. Finally, the Red Sox have had uncanny success in the first game of a homestand, going 44-20, 68.8% on the last 64 occasions.
