I know some of our better cappers are on them so lets have a bitch thread for this game.
Can't believe Cards had the bases loaded and nobody out and didn't score.most likely going to be a very low scoring game and always in doubt,do like not having to rely on the Toronto pen.Lets go Cards.

Every time I bet on the Cards their offense takes the night off, so I don't have real high hopes for tonight. Also, stranding the bases loaded with nobody out in the first is unforgivable. Not just from a runs perspective, but from a momentum perspective. That was an absolute backbreaker. Now Romero's confidence is sky high and he will probably go on to pitch well the rest of the way.

I also wish I had known Stavinoha was going to be the cleanup hitter tonight. Stavifriggingnoha hitting cleanup. :142smilie

If I had known that ahead of time I probably wouldn't have bet the Cards. This game is a great example of why sometimes it's better to wait for the lineup cards before placing your bet.

No matter what happens with this game, I've learned my lesson. I'm done betting this horseshit team the rest of the year. They have great pitching, but their offense is so awful they're near the bottom in most NL categories. I'm actually surprised they have been able to muster 8 hits against a stud like Romero. :shrug:

glenn,
the numbers dont lie.
stluois offense statistically is one of tyhe best in mlb. top 3 in national league.
mlb league averages in 3-main off.categories
slg=.403
stlouis=.415

obp=.328
stl=.335

avg.=.257
stl=.261

tonight they just missing the key hit, but good pitching can do that to the best.
weve outhit them 11-3 credit romero for pitching his ass off.
we got a run, hopefully we hang on. i wish they would let carp. finish it. franklin scares me.

You know what? I'm an idiot. :142smilie I thought what I was looking at was the NL only statistics, but it was for the whole MLB.

So yeah, I was way off. And you're right about the stats you quoted, but they still probably aren't as good as most people think they are.

12th in BA, 14th in hits, 16th in RBIs, 18th in runs, etc. Not horrible, but also not as good as previous years.
