hey, team....as some of you know....i'm in dire need of a new/used vehicle....i've really had my heart set on a jeep....BUT....just checking around for other vehicles....i've come across some real gems....and i'm thinking why not go for something "classy"....*LOL*....i'm definitely not that knowledgeable when it comes to cars NOR mechanically inclined whatsoever....soooooooooo....i need to pick up something in the $2500-$4500CDN range that will give me NO trouble at all for a couple of years or else i'm screwed!!!

these are the ones i've found so far....

1987 JAGUAR SOVEREIGN (not certified) 156,000km - $2,599

1987 BMW 325 (certified +1 yr warr.) 158,000km - $3,900

1985 BMW 325E (certified) 167,000km - $2,995

1989 JEEP YJ (not certified) 212,000km - $3,695

1987 JEEP YJ (certified) ------km - $4,400

being anal about cars....should i insist on something certified so as to lessen the potential for problems down the road....or should i go for the cheapest thing....or should i opt for the one with the least amount of mileage....or should i go for the "newest one???

i've only seen pics of these vehicles and all of them look to have pretty good to excellent bodies!!!

any and all input/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks, peeps!!!

:)

Hockey Lives Here
The Jag and Bimmer will cost you alot down the road to maintain.
The certified Jeep is probably the way to go.

I have a 1998 BMW 540i, love it, but of course have warranty.
Things could really screw up in those older european cars and that when it get costly.

Plus I've noticed that the Jeep YJ's are becoming very popular around here.

Good Luck!!

Hey, VMAHARAJ, Nice ride ! Me too, a 540 sport 6spd. It's an awesome ride and I know I'll never grow tired of it. I've only got 42 k on it so I expect I'll have it awhile, or at least until I get an M5.

OOPS, almost forgot.

ChrryBlstr, don't even think about the BMWs without obtaining some type of aftermarket warranty. Any type of major repair would be a killer.

Not sure about the 3 series but an oil change on my 540 (8 qts mobil one) is about $80 (US$) a shot. Just an example of what you can look forward to.

Great cars but not cheap to maintain.
