hope you don't mind cash man hermano....really aprreciate your work......

Brandon Lang Thursday's Selections ... NOTE:
Tennessee getting points against Virginia Tech was always going to be one of my strongest bowl plays.

Yes, I would have loved to have built the bankroll a bit higher but the bottom line is it is what it is.

It wouldn't suprise me if the Vols to beat Virginia Tech today just as I said North Carolina would on a Thursday night ESPN game as a 15 1/2 point underdog, one of my best calls of the year.

I like Navy to hang with Missouri. The free pick of Minnesota over Iowa State should be a fun game to watch.

That is my plan of attack on this last day of 2009. And it's a plan of attack I am very comfortable with.

Time to close out 2009 in style.

75 DIME - TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS - Who is Virginia Tech and the ACC to be laying more than a field goal to anybody out of the SEC?

There are two teams playing for the national championship game and that is Texas and Alabama.

Well, you saw Nebraska almost knock off the Longhorns in the Big 12 championship game and look what they did to Arizona last night.

Well, Tennessee for all intents and purposes beat Alabama, even if their stupid field goal kicker couldn't knock thru a 44 yarder with under a mintue to play.

That is the talent in which the Vols bring to the table in this matchup and for me the bottom line is this is way to many points for Tech to be laying.

This is a Tennessee Vols defense that has gotten much better as the year has gone on and with ex NFL defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin on the sidelines for the Vols with this much time to prepare, I like my chances with the dog tonight.

If Tennessee doesn't turn the ball over I feel just as I did with my call of North Carolina over Virginia Tech, I feel Tennessee can beat them to tonight.

The ACC is 1-7 SU, and 2-6 ATS versus the SEC with Clemson getting the cover over Kentucky as the only win lately.

And if you have an SEC bowl underdog facing a team off of a SU win, how about the SEC being 9-1 ATS.

Grab more than a field goal with Tennessee and don't be suprised boys and girls if Tennessee wins this game outright.

25 DIME - NAVY MIDSHIPMEN -Who is Missouri to be laying this kind of number to a Navy squad that is 3-1 ATS as an underdog this year?

I am talking about a squad that had a near miss win at Ohio State to start the year, battled Pittsburgh on the road to a 13 point loss which was much closer than the final score would lead you to believe and wins over Wake Forest and Notre Dame.

Navy loves to be bowling and it shows by their 4-1 ATS mark last 5 years.

Military academies are 20-8-1 ATS and it starts with their discipline and their preparation. Most other schools can't match it.

Navy is just the kind of team to give Missouri fits here and the Tigers are about to find out what Ohio State, Pitt, Wake Forest and Notre Dame found out, this is one pesky underdog.

The Tigers were hoping for a bigger bowl game as they were kind of passed over for the Insight Bowl, which was where Iowa State got to go.

Have to believe the team that wants to be here more is the team that will end up covering and for me that team is Navy.

"Yes, I would have loved to have built the bankroll a bit higher but the bottom line is it is what it is."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that has to be one of the funniest lines i've ever read. "a bit higher" so he'd have loved to only be down 250 dimes? this guy cracks me up. i'm convinced that, if he's actually playing these plays himself, he literally means "dimes". so he's only down $25. not bad. :mj07:

I really hate doing it, but I like Tennessee as well. ACC just doesn't matchup with the SEC. If Clemson doesn't have a gift wrapped turnover vs. Kentucky, they probably find a way to lose that game. Vols played solid ball down the stretch and Hokies are hardly an explosive offensive team plus already lost @ this venue to Alabama earlier this season... not saying the Vols are Bama, but they did lose by less than a FG to the mighty Tide.

On another note, Lang said how he's planning to fade the Big 12... I'll take my chances with Iowa State & Missouri.

75 DIME - FLORIDA GATORS - The more I looked at this game the more I realized the Gators were the right side of this game.

Let's us start with the fact this line is -13 (as I post this analysis). Who does that tell you Vegas is begging you to bet? Exactly, Cincinnati.

Next, the Bearcats shouldn't be here. Pitt should be, and the determining factor for me is the fact the Gators are going to be able to do anything they want offensively.

Urban Meyer and his announcement has got to inspire this Gator team and I believe it will.

Tim Tebow playing his last game and you had better believe he will go out a winner.

The Gators defensive coordinator Strong will coach his last game here before departing for Louisville and with his entire defense back from last year, this may be their best game.

The Bearcats haven't seen this type of pressure from a front 7 all year long and when your offensive line is going to get overwhelmed to the level they are, long day for Tony Pike.

He didn't look all that good against Pitt and trust me, the pressure he sees here is the most he will have seen all year.

Just look at Cincy down the stretch.

They struggled to beat Uconn at home 47-45, how about West Virginia at home 24-21 followed by a 13 point win over Illinois and then finally Pitt 45-44.

I want you to think about this for one moment. The UConn Huskies came into your house and put up 45 points on you. That was UConn! I'm talking about a motivated Florida team here.

A few years ago Hawaii played Georgia in the Sugar bowl with Colt Brennan and his high scoring offense, and Hawaii got blown out because Brennan had no time to throw.

Guess what, the same will be said about Pike when this game has come and gone.

Gators will win this game by 17 points or more.

25 DIME - NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS - Way too many points here.

I respect Auburn and what they have done this year, and the improvements they have made - but covering this number is a too much for them to bite off.

As impressive as Wisconsin was against Miami-Florida, and to know this Northwestern team beat them at home tells me a lot about the Wildcats.

This is a team that played their best ball down the stretch with a 17-10 win at Iowa, a 21-16 win at Illinois, and a 33-31 win over the Badgers.

The Tigers come in off the near-miss win over Alabama, and now look for bowl success and they might have a bit more speed but this is a live dog here.

In the last 2 years Northwestern has been a dog 13 times and they got the money in 10 of those 13 games, with 8 outright upsets.

That is good enough for me as the Wildcats get the job done here and cover the number.

25 DIME - FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES - Going to war with the Seminoles.

First and foremost, just not a believer in West Virginia nor anything they did all year long.

They come into this game here averaging just under 21 points over their last 5 games and the fact of the matter is I just don't trust Brown at QB for the Mountaineers.

Away from home this WVU team was just 1-3 ATS, and with all the hype surrounding this being Bowden's last game, I will go to war with that hype here.

The Seminoles come in here off a loss to the Gators and if you thought that leaves them in a letdown situation, think again, as Florida State is 10-1 SU and ATS after losing to Florida.

Lastly add the fact the ACC is a rock solid 13-3 ATS versus the Big East and for my buck, it's about Florida State this afternoon.

Been a great run Bobby, take your lap around the winners circle and enjoy being retired.

25 DIME - OHIO STATE BUCKEYES - I will roll the dice with Jim Tressel as a dog anytime anywhere.

The Buckeyes excel in the underdog role, going 4-1 ATS last 5 times getting points winning 3 of those games outright.
