I know it is a relatively sound practice to play the loser of game #1 in the second game of double heade r. I generally use this practice as well, as statistically it is quite sound. Boston has not hit the ball this well all season. Over the last several weeks Nomar, Ramirez, Damon and others have struggled at the plate.

Remember in the Series against New York, although Boston lost 2 games they hit the ball well. Nomar & Ramirez both had multiple hr games. And this isn't all, seldom in todays professional athletics do games get personal. Boston makes no secret in Boston papers today their dislike 4 the Tampa Club. This has basically evolved from Tampa hitting Boston hitters when they fall behind. It escalated when Nomar was hit in early May & intensified last week when Ramirez was hit twice, once close to his head.

Add this to the fact that Tampa has yet to beat Boston this season, going 0-9. Lowe is going in game #2. This is a pitching Miss match, Lowe has already no hit Tampa this season. The line started high already -320, with this beating this afternoon undoubtedly it will rise. Personally I like Boston -1.5 as I said earlier Boston bats are hot, Lowe shouldn't yield more than 3 runs in his start.

Good luck

Wish I would have read your thread before I put my other thread up cause I would have posted it here. EVERYONE needs to take bullpens into consideration in a DH. Tampa has already had three pitcher out of the BP in and all have had homers hit off of them. Boston still has Banks in who relieved Wakefield in the six where Sturtze got pull in the 3rd. I like Boston again for the sweep and one step closer to catching NY. Good luck to all.

that was one of my biggest consideration. Throw in the fact that they needed their BP a lot in all the games against Toronto and things look good for Boston and the OVer.

I took runline Boston. Also they may just give up for the day. This team has been losing and is used to it. But a heavy loss instead of encouragin them will break them i think.

Cheers !!!

Heavy it is as Manny hits a three run homer 22-4 going into the 9th! They have gotten rocked in a major way. Wilson is shitting a brick about now and so is the rest of the BP. UNREAL!!!

few more things to consider, field temperature 100 + today, Tampa players look completely played as Boston has 19 hits & 7 homers already. As I stated earlier they had 5 bombs Sunday against Yankees against relatively decent pitching. Tampa looks extremely lethargic & is playing error rampant baseball. Ramirez has now hit another homer & a hard double off the Wall that would have been a homer in most major League Parks.

Thunder storm warnings currently

good luck
