Someone mentioned a discount cellular company that they use that works on the Verizon network.

What was the name of that company?

It's not that it works on Verizon network, it is Verizon.

Thanks. From reading, it runs on Verizon network.

Will any Verizon phone work with them? Their phone selection blows, but their rates are right. :)

I'm assuming that any Verizon phone will work on their plan. I'll do a little more research.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Page Plus Cellular is not Verizon, they are a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) using the Verizon Wireless network.

Page Plus Cellular does not offer the full Verizon network, and you may run into roaming charges if you use it outside cities. Check out thier coverage map compared to Verizon.

some Page Plus Cellular dealers can activiate PP on your own phone, but there are lots of restrictions and problems. Verizon made them lock out most smartphones a few days ago.

an exhaustive discussion of Page Plus here

I would suggest tracfone's Straight Talk--$45 a month unlimited talk, text and web with no roaming. On a slightly more limited Verizon network. Page Plus $39 plan has limit on web. But if you don't use web much, but might need to roam, the PP isn't bad. And Straight Talk has very limited choice of phones.

The MVNO I use is Apex Global Wireless. Not quite as cheap as the above, but I can get a fancy smart phone from them (to use as tethered modem for laptop on Verizon's 3G network), they use the full Verizon network, and customer service is excellent as the fellow you deal with on the phone, Bill, is the owner!
