Are you going to lose the Vikings?

I'm kinda paying attention to what's going on with this story, mainly doing my "Regular Thing" and watching the Kings in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

I'm sorry for your potential loss.

I know how you feel  :mj16: :mj16: :nutkick :cursin: :cuss: :cuss: :00x25 :00x4 :0026 :0026

Lumi, I honestly don't know. I never would have thought that, and still don't think the team will move, but the legislative outlook here has always been a deterrent. Especially now. I am worried, but hope the negatives in moving the team might help things along.

What I know:
? The NFL wants a team here. I think we're the #14 market in the league.
? There would be options to sell the team to local investors (from what I've heard) if a deal cannot be worked out on the stadium.
? There is nothing definite available in Los Angeles at the moment, although plenty going on there now.
? There are other teams the NFL would prefer to move there that are not well supported.

What I'm worried about:
?*The NFL is probably getting fed up with the BS going on here. And there's nothing solid to think it will get done this year, especially with such a short time remaining in the session. A special session has been talked about to focus on the stadium.
? There will be plenty of suiters in other areas that would love a team.
? People here are getting worn out with the situation, and there are plenty of people that don't give a shit about football and especially about publicly funding it.
? Economically and politically, it's a terrible time to try to spend a bunch of money on anything, especially "elective."

I don't know. It's frustrating. I'm less sure they will stay than I was, but if I had to bet I would bet they will somehow stay here.

I hope they stay,

I still call the Texans the Oilers, The Winipeg Jet's who are the PHX Coyotes then the ATL some sort of scrawny mangey bird who became the Jets?

The Oakland-LA-Oakland, Maybe LA Again Raiders?

The California Angels of Anaheim of A Suburb of Los Angeles which is actually in North Orange County 2 miles East of Disneyland

These would be the correct names, I think?

Let's not even go into the Jets and Giants :mj07:

IMO, if the NFL is going to end up with a team in LA, the Jags would be the best option to move. They don't draw fans at home, don't draw a TV audience and are in a small TV market. I don't see the NFL adding any new teams. 32 teams and eight, four-team divisions is perfect.
