Sitting here watching coverage on MSNBC which is sickening in itself, and the only reason i keep watching these broadcasters that get chubb's every time they say Obama is because my remote control is not working.
The funny thing is that these people who are being interviewed actually think the world will be better on "Day 1" when the new guy gets into office. I saw a report where there are already protests on the other side of the world, burning pictures of Obama. While i think it is good that Obama mobilized the country and got people to vote, the majority of his base believes that the people who hate us, hate us because of George W. and not because of who we are and what we believe in.
Do they actually think that the Islamic extremists will stop planning attacks, starting tomorrow? Do they think that Obama will be that much different than the current administation. He said what he had to, to get elected. Sitting down with Iran and North Korea, maybe....ending our long relationship with Israel as its strongest supporter, thats laughable.
Chris Matthews and the "tingle that runs up his leg" and Olbermann have bent over for this guy and lets just see how they react with Bams.
Everyone will have to come back to reality soon and realize that Al Q., Hezbollah, Hamas...they don't give a sh*t about the "yes we can" nonsense.
Our enemies are our enemies, doesn't matter who is in office.

He will be just fine until the unexpected moments that happen to every president. The actions he takes on those will determine if the msm keeps giving him a pass. I truely hope he does well (unlike some here), and hope he tries to stay above the fray. I agree however that it won't take long for the honeymoon to be over for many in America that thought their worlds would somehow improve.

yah, because they value women and their place in society in most of the parts where they are burning posters of bush...i mean Obama now.
So, yah, as of noon tomorrow, they will come out of their caves in Afghanistan, remnants of the Taliban will sing Kum ba Yah, Iran will just decide that they don't need a nuclear weapon anymore, North Korea will engage with the world after completely isolating themselves in effect starving their own people for a few selfish desires of the leaders, because why is that again? Oh, thats right....YES WE CAN....

Bams: Ahmidinijad, How can we get you to stop seeking nuclear weapons, yes we can perhaps?
Iran: Stick it up your ass, we want annhialation of Israel...
Bams: Yes we can, you mean that doesn't work with you over here?

do you really think that the majority of the world who is supporting Obama knows his position on the Economic Crisis, or his position on Iraq (now moving closing towards W's on listening to the generals on the ground), or his idea of going with a "surge" in Afghanistan, much like the successful one in Iraq. I am sure the global community will love another US Military surge, right?
yes we can...it's comical when the majority of those saying yes we can, don't really grasp how things work in Washington, more sad than comical actually.

wait, i need to go, Obamamann is about to have a Special Comment on Torture. Probably only his 100th SC on torture. he must really care about the masterminders of 9/11. no wonder why his ratings get tripled by Orally. other than those on the extreme far left, no one gives a f*ck what happens to those loons down in Guantanamo. Waterboarding the few that are the worst of the worst that are behind terrorist attacks by professionals seems to be a small price to pay for the chance of breaking up a plot. Their memories are short. i would ask Olbermann if his family was in harm and we had intel that a captive had information, would he allow waterboarding for the chance, if only a chance that it would help save lives - would he allow it? you'll never hear matthews spewing his spit and nonsense and ask those hardball questions. he is too busy quoting faulkner and talking about hollywood and its lame ass old time movies that noone gives a f*ck about anymore, just to look like he is part of the "in" crowd. he needs a lesson on ironing shirts and buying nice ties, he looks more like a frat kid than a commentator.

Common sense would tell most people that the world in general will take a more favorable view of America under Obama at this point that they do/have under George Bush. The strength and credibility of the United States is far less strong and credible than it was a few years ago, in so very many ways. To think otherwise, IMO, FWIW, is naive at best, and ignorant, at worst.

It is true that time will tell moving forward. That's true with any President. Most of us know - or at least can now admit - what time has told us about Bush Junior. We'll see what Obama can do.

"Osama bin Laden once told Time magazine that the U.S. withdrawal from Somalia after the murder of 18 U.S. troops on a humanitarian mission made him realize "more than before that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat." Members of al-Qaida have told intelligence officials they never thought Washington would respond to the 9/11 attacks as ferociously as Bush responded. They expected a few bombs to be dropped, no boots on the ground, a swift withdrawal if casualties mounted -- the usual short-attention span foreign policy that warped Lebanon, the Persian Gulf War, Somalia, the African embassy bombings and the attack on the destroyer Cole.

Bush showed America's enemies a country that does not retreat in fear, does not bomb with impunity, and most important, does not desert civilians or foreign governments that trust us. If you think that doesn't matter, look at Libya, which disarmed its weapons program. And see how much easier Obama's presidency will be because Bush kept the faith.

Osama bin Laden may live, most likely quivering in a cave. And no one thinks America is a paper tiger anymore."

bull shit ! ask the people of iraq who helped us why they can't come to the country that they put their lives on the line for.... you are still caught up in that VN mentality... Ask Bush 41 and Gen Swartzkoff & Powell why they didn't try to nation build after the Gulf War..This is horse shit... the terrorist didn't think we would respond ??? The terrorist waited for this jack ass to take office because the response was predictable and THEY LOVED AND ARE STILL LOVING IT ! gw IS A TRRRORIST BEST FRIEND... HIS APPROVAL RATING IS HIGHER WITH TERRORIST THAN IT IS WITH ANY GROUP IN THE WORLD. WHEN little bush staged that mission accomplished photo op.. binlandin did the same !!!!!http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=mission+accomplished&btnG=Search.... what a fucking joke, forget underachiever, there is no term for it !!!!! Reagan did the right thing after the Beirut barracks bombing... Americans were killed but he didn't throw more LIFE on a bush/cheney like scrap pile.... bush didn't keep us safe... 911 happened under the delusion of giuliani & bush.... FOR A PRESIDENT TO GO ON TV AFTER HIS DAYS ARE DONE AND TALK ABOUT KEEPING US SAFE IS : P A T H E T I C ...... Thats what bush was supposed to do.... It's like brushing your teeth and wiping your ass... Thats what I elected him for, thats what he sighed up for..... TURN THE PAGE . This / he can not be justified or defended ! What did we win ?? We went to war unprepared and not enough troops on the ground... WILLIAM BUCKLEY SAID AT THE TIME WRONG WAR, TIME & PLACE ......ALL THE SURGE WAS : A last desperate all in effort by a president in over his head.. He counted on rummy...http://crooksandliars.com/2006/12/1...u-might-want-or-wish-to-have-at-a-later-time/

every word in that gent`s post was absolutely gospel.......it didn`t slam democrats...it wasn`t even partisan(except to point out the obvious about msnbc)...

what exactly do you take issue with,spongy?....

don`t dance around,please be specific....

haven`t you read the posts regarding the plot on clinton`s life?...the first wtc bombing?....the cole?...

hate bush..that`s fine...dissent is one thing, and ignoring the facts and past history is another thing all together(willful idiocy).......

it`s not going away with obama...they`ve been hurt badly by the war on terror...but,we start letting down our guard, watch how fast we get hit again...

btw...a list of terrorist attacks during clinton`s adm....

=The 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed 6 and injured 1,000
-- The 1993 Mogadishu firefight that killed 18 U.S. soldiers
-- -- The 1995 Saudi Arabia car bomb that killed 5 U.S. military personnel
-- The 1996 Khobar Towers bombing that killed 19 U.S. soldiers, wounding 515
-- The 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa that killed 231 citizens, 12 Americans and injured 5,000
-- The 2000 USS Cole attack in Yemen that killed 17 U.S. sailors, wounding 39

and 9/11 was plotted during his watch....

it wasn`t "his" fault....just like all the other attacks all over the world aren`t "our" fault.....

Agreed.

And, frankly, for me his honeymoon is over.

He is no longer president-elect, its time for him to get to work.

It never matters to me who is in office as my instinct is always towards being a government watchdog---it comes from my old school reporter background....and, frankly, I just dont trust either party, so I am always looking out.

To that end, Barry-O is on the clock and on notice.

Should be interesting to see what kinds of first steps he makes.

pretty pathetic that when the president was walking out they were booing him and then singing the "hey hey hey, goodbye". shows complete lack of respect and sense of history towards the outgoing president. no suprise that those were the same "yes we can" fucks that matthews gets bone dog's while interviewing them.

matthews: "where are you from"
Raul: "atlanta georgia"
matthews: "why are you here?"
Raul: "because barack will make me rich, and will paint the roads gold and i won't have to pay taxes"
matthews: "you are my hero, you remind me of peter o'toole in lawrence of arabia"

TAKE THIS Doucebag of the AIR! he is pathetic.

i hope for the country that the Bams does well, and he learns from some of W's mistakes, but he can also learn of lot of what W did right, and although it is very hard for the loons on the way left to admit, our homeland was kept safe after 9/11. those who think for a second that they weren't trying or stopped trying, they're head is in the sand and they are drinking the olbermann kool aid.

If you are waiting for the libicrates around here to acknowledge any good done by Bush you are wasting your time.

List the 'good done', and we can discuss.

Just as a note, 'keeping us safe' should include the biggest loss of life attack on our home soil in our history on his 'watch.'

Not necessarily his fault, probably not his fault at all, but let's keep it realistic.

What has been 'good done' by Bush?

To acknowledge or not requires someone putting something 'good' out there.

Thanks, man.

lets try something you can relate to(being a liberal and all)....

how about bush doing more for africa and africans than any president in history?....

how about freeing an entire islamic country(28,221,181 people).......freeing the majority from the yoke of a brutal minority(like south africa......trying to give examples that resonate in what passes for the liberal mind)...

no more wood chippers...no more mass graves...no more invading their neighbors...freedom for all to share in the oil revenue....

you(and stw..btw,where has your buddy been?...mission accomplished?)always cite the death count in the war....i wonder how many people this war will actually save in the long run?....

a blueprint to keep this country safe from future attacks....

the courage to take the heat and waterboard three of the most savage of the savages that would like nothing more than to kill you, your family and everyone you know....uncovering plots and leading to the capture of al qaeda leaders...

now name some things the democratic congress has done since taking control 2 years ago(when this economic mess really hit the fan)....

lol

Yeah, STW is my 'buddy.' lol

The Democratic Congress hasn't done shit.

We definitely threw more money at Africa than ever before. That's better than nothing, but no real interest in the genocide.

As far as 'freeing' Iraq(but....it was NOT an 'Islamic' country as you say-are you kidding?) there is a long way to go on that one. Time will tell.
