abc is determined to turn mnf into a circus.

i hope this doesn't happen because i think that this will be a terrible mistake.

they should just leave it with michaels & madden.

they worked fine last year.

Future basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley is talking with ABC about the possibility of joining Monday Night Football, according to Bloomberg News.

"We've been approached about doing something," Barkley's agent Marc Perman said.
Barkley has two years left on his contract as an analyst for TNT's Inside the NBA.

ABC Sports' senior vice president told Bloomberg News that he and Barkley have had "casual chatter" about a job on the telecasts.

The addition of Barkley would essentially amount to an attempt by ABC to bolster ratings with the presence of a high-profile, non-football announcer.

Dennis Miller was fired in 2002 after his acerbic wit failed to draw viewers.

What is abc's/ disney's fascination with racists? First Rush now Barkley? Why not just go right after David Duke or Trent Lott.
Maybe Minister Farracon is available. Yes i know it is spelled wrong.

Tossing, after reading your shit over the last few weeks, I 've come to the conclusion that you're an idiot! I know it's a stretch but I think I've got this one nailed.

Goodness, you like to stir the pot.

But I'm sure that's what you're shooting for so, congrats.

Charles Barkley has turned down a chance for a role on Monday Night Football.

"I didn't think that this was a direction I wanted to go in right now," the retired NBA star told Sporting News Radio.
Bloomberg News had reported that Barkley, who has two years left on his contract as an analyst for TNT's Inside the NBA., had been approached about a possible spot on Monday Night Football.

"I better stick to basketball," Barkley told the Arizona Republic. "The only thing I know about football is the point spreads."

ABC Sports' senior vice president told Bloomberg News that he and Barkley had "casual chatter" about a job on the telecasts.

"I only considered it because the guy who talked to me about it used to be here at TNT, Mike Pearl, and I have a great amount of respect for him," Barkley told Sporting News Radio. "I considered it and took my time, probably two to three weeks, and then just said, 'I'm going to pass.'"

The addition of Barkley would have amounted to an attempt by ABC to bolster ratings with the presence of a high-profile, non-football announcer.

"I don't want to be on TV any more," Barkely said. "I was very flattered, but I'm going to have to pass on that."

Dennis Miller was fired in 2002 after his acerbic wit failed to draw viewers.

Barkley knows foots. Sick bettor also.

TS, you know when the Democrats praise Robert Byrd, they get a free pass...and Trent Lott is the racist? At least he apologized for his comments. And since when was being conservative the same as being racist? It's funny how these liberals like to group these two together. "Oh, you're for welfare reform...well that hurts the blacks..you racist." This whole jaded view of the world you guys have is sickening. David Duke...racist. Rush Limbaugh...conservative. You know, liberals like to preach the whole idea of "tolerance..." yet few practice what they preach. If conservatives group people, it's racist...if liberals do, it's just class structure. Do your homework, chooch.:thefinger

I know Charles and he is not a racist. I am a white man saying that also.

He is one of the most down to earth and giving celebs I have ever met.

Yall never hear about the days he comes back home or around The Gump just to have shoot arounds with the young kids. Charles will speak his mind but in no way is he a racist.

I have also been taught in the past the first one to accuse someone else of being something generally is the one guilty. Im not saying anyone in here is but before you accuse someone of something look in the mirror yourself.

Barkley's wife is white. But he has made many remarks in the past about not liking white folk. So not only is he a racist, but he is a hypocrite as well.

Barkley has made antiwhite or pro black comments, that if a white celeb made about blacks would get crucified for.

Racism sucks from both sides.

He stated that he was "A 90's nigger" when he was playing for the 76'ers. He also stated he wanted to keep his wife barefoot and pregnant.

like aubie, i've met barkley on a couple of occasions and found him to be one of the nicest, most unpretentious celebs that i've met, in no way a racist. he does have a way of speaking his mind in a politically incorrect manner, not unlike many of my southern redneck friends (myself included). despite their manner of speaking, most of them are not racists either. charles likes to go out on the town, and when he does, for some reason, drunks like to talk sh*t to him. sir charles, however, is not inclined to take sh*t from anyone, as any er doctor who has stitched up those drunks can attest. for all the incidents that charles has been involved in, to my knowlegdge he has been exonerated in all of them.
