ecu -3-: some long tine madjackers recall that i like to go slumming with my plays from time to time, and this one's right from the cellar. this line rates these two teams equal but i don't believe that for a minute. i'm posting this now assuming it will rise later. i'll be back with more.

ironic that these 2 teams should play tonight given the similarity of their circumstances. ecu began the season with 2 of their top 4 guards kicked off the team for unspecified reasons. that made for a rocky start for coach jeff lebo. for those that dont remember, lebo was a guard on dean smith's unc team of the late 80's, and has been coaching for the last 30 years at ecu, auburn, utc and tennessee tech. after ecu began the season 2-4, losing to the likes of radford, cen conn st and nc a&t, lebo suddenly and unexpectedly resigned, evidently a burnout victim from his parting words:

On if he plans to coach again:

I'm leaving the door open. It's not something I've thought about. Maybe in the years to come if something arises. I'm still fairly young. But right now, it's the furthest thing from my thoughts. Right now I want to be able to focus on some areas that I haven't been able to focus on. I tell people all the time I've been all over the country, and I've seen nothing but a gym and a hotel room. I want to open my eyes and see some things after 36 years."

lebo's assistants have picked up the reins and recovered nicely, going 3-0 since.

now fast forward to last thursday in charlotte. unc-c coach mark price, the former ga tech star, was called to the office by ad judy rose and summarily fired without warning after a 3-6 start. evidently after the football team tanked this year after a looking promising the season before, the rough start for the basketball team had produced hand-held signs in the arena calling for rose to be fired, so evidently she responded immediately and found a scapegoat.

that may be well and good, but rose might have overlooked the fact that the 49ers' leading rebounder and 3 pt shooter is one hudson price - that;s right - mark's son. he's already announced his intention to seek his release and transfer. it's hard to believe he will play tonight, i mean , what if he gets hurt? if he did play, do you believe he would be motivated to have a great game and lead his team to victory? make it look like his dad was the problem? hardly - this team will likely be in chaos as an idiot ad eventually becomes one with her own incompetence. they'll be coached by former price asst houston fancher, the former app st coach who quit because of criticism and and his own burnout 8 years ago.

i don't know how the 49ers will respond to all of this, but can't imagine it will be good. the current line that puts ecu spotting a modest home court number can't adequately represent the status quo. go pirates!

It is unclear whether Price will have any college eligibility remaining. He played two seasons at Texas Christian before transferring to Charlotte to play for his dad. Hudson Price sat out the NCAA-mandated one season before joining the 49ers for the 2016-17 season.

Mark Price told the Observer earlier Thursday he didn?t know if Hudson Price would remain with the 49ers after his father?s surprise firing.

?Hudson will have to make his own choices,? Mark Price said. ?I?ll talk to him. It?s going to be tough, I?m sure, for him to be at a place that just fired his dad.?

wow rose sure put a lot of thought on how this move would affect this young man.

saw that dz, now down to -2- after rising to -4. hard to say. do 49ers dislike price, prefer fancher. ad rode did make comments saying price had "lost his team". fancher may be their buddy, not sure i would have told the ad i would coach out the season after the way they treated price. and hard to imagine they will improve without hudson price in the lineup. im down for my max on the pirates, though i wouldn't rule out middling some back if it goes to, say -1 or so.

I saw a little bit of the ECU / Cleve St game , a game where ECU played well in spurts but certainly not consistently throughout the full 40. The most impressive thing I observed from ECU on that day was the amount of fine specimens on their dance and cheer squads. That's enough for me, I'm down.

Think I figured out why the line moved early this morning... about 10 minutes before I posted, Alan Boston tweeted this and i know a lot of people follow his plays when he shares them.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Ugh. I hate Sundays. Even at my best, Sundays were tough. Yesterday was no exception. Amends today, with Charlotte plus 4-15 or if not available, plus 31/2</p>— alan boston (@bostonred88) <a href="https://twitter.com/bostonred88/status/942768547348000769?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">December 18, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Forget Boston. In Loophole we trust!

I do not think Boston can cause a line to move.

let me get this right - after leading 31-26 at halftime, pirates are outscored 43-19 in the second half? 2 of 21 from the 3 pt line? who does that? but that's what you get sometimes when you go ugly with these lower ranked teams. i'm sure charlotte ad judy rose is gloating her ass off about how smart she was firing price. let's see how that works out.

OK, well i'll concede

Boston may have caught wind of a group that was hitting it and that the line would move, but he is not betting that much himself to move a line.

I like him, but I really do not think he bets that much anymore, and his twitter timeline shows how bipolar he is and how he really does not bet that much anymore because he admits his best days are long gone.
