Lucena,

I have that has stayed at the Duke Mansion, and said it was very nice.

My company is located in Charlotte, I have been there quite often, but I have not been able to do any "touristy" things.

There are a lot of good bars and restaurants throughout the city.

It is a very strange city to drive in. If you drive from one side of town to the other the same street will change names 3 times, which can be confusing.

went to school in the charlotte area for 4 years, i dont know if you are a nascar fan but this is where nascar thrives.....
most of the teams have their shops in mooresville nc, a short drive from charlotte, truly a site to see but only if you are a fan.
clean and driver friendly city, not a crazy scene like some of the others, lots of golf in the area -- if you and her are golfers, might be a good chance to get out for a nice round at any one of the surrounding public's.
enjoy
