Just as NFL training camps get into fill swing this week, Week 5 of the Canadian Football League season offers some great matchups for sports bettors.
On Friday, two struggling teams collide when the B.C. Lions visit the Edmonton Eskimos.
The Lions are 1-3 SU and 2-2 ATS, their lone win coming against the Eskimos in the season opener for both teams. The Eskimos are winless (0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS).
CFL Odds at betED.com have Edmonton as a slight, 1.5-point favorite and the over/under total at 53.
The Lions are 7-3 SU and 4-5-1 ATS in the past 10 meetings, and beat the Eskimos 25-10 as a 3.5-point road underdog on July 4.
On Saturday, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders, with Saskatchewan a 7.5-point favorite and the over/under at 54.5.
The Roughriders have dominated the past 10 meetings (9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS) but Hamilton won the last meeting 24-6 as a 1-point home favorite on Oct. 31 last season.
The game will be broadcast on the NFL Network starting at 6:30 pm ET.
Later Saturday night, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the Calgary Stampeders, with Calgary a 6.5-point favorite and the over/under at 56.5.
The Stampeders are 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in the past 10 head-to-head. The teams last squared off on Aug. 8 last season, a 31-23 Calgary win. The Stampeders failed to cash as a -14.5-point home favorite.
