Neverteaseit,

They would be very lucky to see 7 wins this season. Under 8.5 or 9 is a very solid bet. Not bashing you HR, just believe that the phins will not be as good as they have been in years past. Other teams that will not be as good are the Eagles and the Rams.

hi all, new to the board (posting, not viewing), looking forward to football season...

just curious on why you think the over is the play, who is going to take the pressure off of ff, cause they surely cant lead a team on their own....

by the way i laid -140 juice to get it but i think it was worth it. Back to the 8' i just don't see where the dolphins are goignt o win 8 games let alone 9. heres the schedule:

Sun 9/12 Tennessee 1:00 pm
Sun 9/19 at Cincinnati 8:30 pm
Sun 9/26 Pittsburgh 1:00 pm
Sun 10/3 NY Jets 4:15 pm
Sun 10/10 at New England 1:00 pm
Sun 10/17 at Buffalo 1:00 pm
Sun 10/24 St. Louis 1:00 pm
Mon 11/1 at NY Jets 9:00 pm
Sun 11/7 Arizona 1:00 pm
bye
Sun 11/21 at Seattle 4:05 pm
Sun 11/28 at San Francisco 4:15 pm
Sun 12/5 Buffalo 1:00 pm
Sun 12/12 at Denver 4:05 pm
Mon 12/20 New England 9:00 pm
Sun 12/26 Cleveland 8:30 pm
Sun 1/2 at Baltimore 1:00 pm

if they go 3-3 out of the gate they may have a shot but i think 3-3 will be a reach.

Wannestadt look like he was gonna cry at that press conference. I want an over under on when he will be fired. I say week 10.

Well olympic has a prop on first coach to be fired and Dave Wannstedt (Mia) is +400 him and marty are the lowest odds it may be worth a shot. I think this is a very good bet. Dolphins are itching to pull the trigger on him. And with a new GM Spielman and a new vp of football operations they will not settle for a mediocre start.

Marty Schottenheimer should last the entire year his team just sucks. He has absolutely no offensive line period. So he has that going for him at least. an excuse.

I really think Miami will be staring at 0-5 (maybe 1-4 if they can beat the Steelers which I doubt) going into Week 6 against Buffalo. Wandstadt will probably be let go by Week 8.

Just an opinion.

Dawg opinions are what make $$$$ on this board. More should chime in on this.I think this total will get pricey closer to the start of the season and oly had 8' now they are at 8. But as far as wanny I see it the way you do. I didn't wanna say they would be 0-5 but its a tough sell to say anything better than 3-3 or 2-4. This team was shocked by the news and it will carry over to the regular season.

I'm not touching anything regarding the Fins until I see what they look like without Ricky. I think he was overrated - and not particularly helpful last year. They still may get an adequate replacement and RB's are so much about the line anyway (see Denver). Miami's defense is still solid - which could keep them in most of the tougher games. I could literally see them being great or horrible or anywhere in between. They are a tough call.

That being said, UN 9' is a smart bet. Anything around 8 is 50-50 to me.

smurphy you are correct about that d it is still rock solid but the o was built around williams who is a power runner and that is something they don't have now. They will have to retool the playbook and other items that will hamper them in the long run if not immediatley.

Could Mike Anderson fit the role reasonably well? Any other backs out there?

I didn't like the way Miami played last year. They relied on Ricky TOO much. You could tell his heart wasn't in it much of the time. I just don't know if a few tweaks combined with a tough speedster might make up for him.

Kinda curious about the passing game too. David Boston is yet another wildcard - could be a bust like under Schotty, or could be a stud that they've been lacking. He could make a difference.

I think 8 is about right. At 9' I'd be looking Under for sure.

Miami is always a fast-starting club, and historically wins an incredibly high % of their home games in Sept and Oct. Keep in mind Tenn is starting a D-line that is almost entirely made up of rookies. They may catch a break getting the Titans right off the bat, and not later in the season. Coupled with the fact everyone is expecting a complete meltdown from the Dolphins, they may actually be a pretty good bet for their week #1 game (after the line gets bet up higher, as I am pretty sure it will). Cinci and Pitt are also definitely beatable foes. The sched gets a lot harder after that.

No way I could justify the OVER, unless somebody has some real good inside knowledge about not only them, but also their opponents.

your rite boundbook, my book has it at 9, but the funny thing the fish may not be that bad. they will finally have to pass the ball this year. they signed boston, they have chambers and derius thompson who is actually pretty good and mcmicheal their tightend is above avg. it will be interesting to see how they do.

i think the best team total this season is the new york giants over 6. warner should start game 1 and will be out to prove he still can play.

good luck high roller as i live in south florida and watch most of the dolphins games. i think you have a chance if you got it at 8 but i would take the over at 8 and play the under at 9 somewhere else. no way they win 10 games so if it they win 9 you win the over and if it lands on 8 you hit the under, that makes the most sense to me. i would say that is the best thing to do.

Miami Dolphins WR David Boston (knee) suffered an injury to his left patella tendon Friday, Aug. 6. His knee appeared to buckle under him without contact. Head coach Dave Wannstedt said the initial diagnosis was a strained patella tendon. He'll have an MRI to determine the severity of the injury. If the patella tendon is torn, it is typically a season-ending injury.
