Charlie Kirk assassination hit me pretty hard. Reminded me of when Kobe and his daughter died. Kobe was the last time I felt that knot in my stomach like when your 10th grade girlfriend broke up with you unexpectedly. This one might’ve even hit closer to home than Kobe because I listened to his podcast some, and often watched his university debate videos. My oldest son, college sophomore, was a fan of his and was going to attend the Charlie Kirk debate at LSU in October. The fact that both my sons ( along with their entire fraternity) planned to be at one of these events meaning potentially in the line of fire of an insane lunatic certainly contributed to the knot in my stomach.
I didn’t fully agree with Charlie Kirk on a lot — guns, abortion, gay marriage, his heavy focus on religion. We were eye-to-eye on importance of family, the greatness of America, illegal immigration, and DEI. He presented ideas calmly, even under fire. People say he spread hate, but I never saw that. The left and their media allies typically frame opposition to their viewpoint as hate. I most certainly saw hate after he was publicly assassinated. I couldn’t believe the amount of dancing on this man’s grave. I expected that from losers in this forum, but friends of mine on social media, a couple of my friends in the real world, hundreds of professors, teachers, nurses, firefighters, and even a couple of members of the establishment media have lost their jobs over there insane rhetoric after this grotesque murder.
We have all witnessed years of Democrats and their media allies throwing around words like “threats to democracy “ and “fascist” and “Nazi” as casual slurs against conservatives. The press repeated those labels - which quite simply do not apply to Charlie, Kirk, or Donald Trump, or Ron DeSantis, etc - until they stuck, dehumanizing people who didn’t fit the left’s mold. It’s only a matter of time before an unstable lunatic acts on this. After all, who doesn’t want to eradicate true fascism and Nazism. Tyler Robinson’s bullets carried those very slurs — “catch this, fascist” — engraved into a casings.
Now, instead of facing that reality, the narrative is being twisted. The shooter is painted as alt-right while his own words, actions, roommates’ and family’s statements are brushed aside. Once again Democratic party’s media allies help push a false narrative.
USA Today lays it bare: speculation from the left is analysis, speculation from the right lies — bias dressed up as journalism. I realize an opinion piece isn’t straight journalism, but readers rarely separate the two, and the effect is the same.
I look forward to the influx of moderates and young people, disgusted by the left’s actions post assassination, to the Republican party. CK’s assassin has reignited a movement.

Charlie Kirk shooting suspect doesn't fit MAGA's reckless political narrative | Opinion
MAGA Republicans have spent the days since Charlie Kirk's tragic shooting death posting online that the shooter must be a radical leftist. Oops.
