Fox News mutes it. The Washington Post just pretends it didn?t happen.

UPDATE: The Post?s gossip column, Reliable Sources, gets the story right ?Vice President Cheney, tapped to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at yesterday?s Nationals home opener, drew boisterous boos from the moment he stepped on the field until he jogged off.?

UPDATE: 64-year-old Washington Nationals usher Harry Horton on the Cheney boo: ?I have never ? ever ? heard anyone get booed like that man.?

Post Quietly Alters Story on Cheney Boos
The Washington Post story before:

The first pitch of the Washington Nationals? second season at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium was low and away, bouncing in the dirt before being scooped up by catcher Brian Schneider. For that, Vice President Cheney received a round of boos from the home crowd this afternoon.

Actually, as the video documents, the booing started from the moment Cheney hit the field and continued until he left. After protests by Americablog and Firedoglake, The Washington Post has changed their copy:

Vice President Cheney threw out the ceremonial first pitch, a right-handed toss that bounced in the dirt to the outside of the plate before being scooped up by catcher Brian Schneider. Cheney, booed by some as he walked to the mound, got even more catcalls after his throw ? a far cry from President Bush?s fastball at last year?s home opener.

The new version is more accurate, but still clings to the notion that a significant amount of the booing was in response to the quality of Cheney?s throw. It?s contradicted by the Post?s own Reliable Source column which reports Cheney ?drew boisterous boos from the moment he stepped on the field until he jogged off.?

There are many reasons I am embarrassed to live in Cincinnati. This is the home of Marge Schott, Pete Rose, Charles Manson (no, the Charles Manson), Mike Brown, Jean Schmidt, Steve Chabot, Jerry Springer, Simon Leis and his prosecution of Mapplethorpe and Larry Flynt, the riots, and many other idiotic, draconian and otherwise Nazi like behavior. Its citizenry is german, sterile, cheap, befitting Great American Ballpark and can be easily led by any conservative, white male who seems to be a strong leader supporting the American way.

On opening day, Bush, leader of the most corrupt, evil, criminal administation in the history of this country, who is directly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people after invading another country who was no threat to the United States, received a standing ovation from a sold out crowd of primarily white Reds fans from southwestern Ohio.

This bears repeating.

On opening day, Bush, leader of the most corrupt, evil, criminal administation in the history of this country, who is directly responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of people and injuries to tens of thousands more, after invading another country who was no threat to the United States, received a standing ovation from a sold out crowd of primarily white Reds fans from southwestern Ohio.

They cheered and cheered as this murderer threw out the ceremonial first pitch. They didn't cheer the office. They cheered Bush. They really like him. God and war. As long as you kill the sand *******, I guess. In the first four years that this sterile ball park has been opened, the ceremonial first pitch has been thrown out by:

2003: Bush (42)
2004: Cheney
2005: Rob Portman (R) Congressman Ohio (1)
2006: W

What the hell am I doing here? This is the most ridiculous city in America. A physically pretty town but a fertile planting ground for the rebirth of the Nazi party in the US. The funny thing is I once heard a Cincinnatian call into a talk radio program and said who would want to live in San Francisco when they could live in Cincinnati. No, I'm not kidding.

Thats the mentality around here. These idiots would actually rather live here than San Francisco.

To further paraphrase Seinfeld, 'just because you move to San Francisco doesn't necessarily mean that you're gay.'

Keep that in mind, I/O. :nono:

I'm sure there are lots of gay people in SF, and lots and lots of straight people in SF.

I'm sure there are lots of straight people in Cinci, and lots and lots of gay people in Cinci, that want to move to SF.

no matter to me

Even gay people's money is green

Wrong MC Fox did cover it --however they stated was mixed chorus of boos and cheers--and unless they doctored the video of it--thats exactly the way I saw it.

You might want to get your news from some where other than --
"UPDATE: The Post?s gossip column" ;)

I have no idea why I am in PR mode, but here I go....

The homeless situation in SF has got a lot better the past few years. The old policies made it very profittable to be homeless and SF (too many cash handouts by the gov't etc)

Plus the never too hot, never too cold weather naturally makes it a good place to live your life outdoors, so we get a lot of homeless people from the rest of the country moving and staying here.

And I always tell people who move here, that you get used to it... but trust me, people who live here are generally embarrased by it, and want it to change. Otherwise it's a great place to live or visit, politics (occasionally) aside.
