Man it never ceases to freak me out as a former football player who,in his day was considered as big as they got,how these guys who are monsters, dominators,in their respective times, the biggest, baddest guys around just freakin' die in their early fortys.or 50's.Big bodies, they get out of shape, have absorbed a lot of hits and punishment, why did he wear out at 42? 12 years in the nfl. All Pro. He was a great player, hope to see you on the other side Big Chet..................

Yep, he was a force

Yep, he was a force

He could wreck an interior O-line...but from what I know, a gentle giant off the field, loved coaching younger kids.........a big loss, RIP Chester McGlockton:sadwave:

"the bunker"
i`m guessing lifestyle...they stop working out and lose their fat to muscle ratio...develop high blood pressure and diabetes at a young age...complications develop and voila,sayonara.....

seems much more prevalent with obese black athletes....i think that statistics bear out that diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes are much more prevalent in the black community(not exclusive to,but occur at a much higher rate)...

the scary part is how fast the decline can happen( it`s possible that mcglockton had some underlying health issues)...

very sad...the guy was a force in his day...

r.i.p....

edit...just read that he had undergone laproscopic weight loss surgery previously...he played at 335,so apparently,he must have become huge at some point in his retirement....
