You do know Chicago has some very nice Boutique Hotels. The James for example. Sure beats something near the airport. You might find that these smaller and more upscale hotels are not all that pricey.
Just for convenience The Boys, we are staying near the airport. We will catch the train to Wrigley either tomorrow or Saturday. Just wanted to get some suggestions on what to do. Deep dish pizza the day of the Cubs game, but one nice night for the wife. She had her third skin cancer spot taken out today(not serious) so I want to make sure we have a good time since it will be but arse cold

Here's my quick rundown
Wrigley Bar before the game: Murphy?s
Wrigley Bar after the game: Blarney Stone
Best Beer (microbrew): Half Acre, honorable mention to Revolution
Best Hot Dog: Frank ?n Dawgs ? not a true hot dog nor a Chicago dog but not processed meat parts either.
Best Pizza: Piece, really good beer too
Best Italian Beef: Al?s, but only the original location on Taylor Street. If you can?t get there just go to Portillos.
Best Canoli: D?Amato?s bakery
Best Italian Restaurant: Orso?s, either sit at the bar and listen to the piano guy or get a seat out on their back patio if the weather is decent.
Best High End Restaurant that?s priced normal: G.E.B.
Best Taco: Big & Little?s
Best BBQ: Smoke Daddy
Comedy Club: Improv Olympic is better and easier to get into than Second City (Second City still really good though)
Skyscraper: Don?t wait in line for Sears tower, go get a drink at the Signature Room at the Hancock
Bean Advice: Don?t go see it
Water tours: River architectural tour is far better than any of the Lake Michigan boat tours

I have no problem with anything here except hot Doug's meat emporium is closing in October for good and I would find time to hit it on the way to wrigley.....and I like the bean and wouldn't head into the city for a nice restaurant with everything that rosemont/Ohare offers in terms of steakhouses.
Have fun.
Nice list here for an out of towner, Mr Poon....:0008
I'd rather have a drink or six at Guthrie's before setting foot in either of the two places you mentioned, but that's just me....
Poon - you still live there?
Any other Chicago mjers? Love to meet for a beah
