They had shown excellent consistency and offensive production prior to last night's shut-out, scoring 6+ runs in 12 of their 16 games since the break. We will forgive them one bad night and expect the hot bats to return today.
Gil Meche starts for the Sox this afternoon. He is 11-7 with a 3.86 ERA this season and in his last outing snapped a four start losing streak. He has allowed 20 earned runs through the 27 1/3 innings of his last five starts.
