So far, more than $11 million has been spent to defeat Sherrod. Citizens United allows special interests to spend as much as they want on outright lies -- and it?s clear that replacing Sherrod with their ally, Josh Mandel, is a top priority for the far right.
Karl Rove?s special interest front group, Crossroads GPS, spent $840,000 this month alone attacking Sherrod on Ohio TV. Spending like that can decide an election if we?re not ready to counter it.
