What's the story on our honest administration allowing the name of one of our agents to be leaked out. Something to do with her Huspand not going along with state dept telling little fibs about nukes in Iraq. That person when found out needs 10 years in jail. Lets see if the Our President will offer up that traitor for justice.

Actually AR she was an undercover operative specializing in nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction. Her ambassador husband was an outspoken critic of the Bush administration who had traveled to Niger to investigate claims Iraq was trying to buy uranium. It is believed the leak was leaked to discredit him in some way.

I agree with djv and maybe am more over the edge. Revealing the identity of an undercover source no matter what they do, they are undercover. This is treasonous at best. Robert Novak, who took the leak and wrote a story about it, most likely will not reveal his source as he will claim journalist-source privalege or whatever that nonsense is. The backstory includes the fact that this leak called 6 journalists before Novak, and they all turned down the information, saying they wouldnt write about it. The question becomes, will these 6 journalists protect the source?

I think it was highly irresponsible for Novak to write about this, though not criminal. The source however should go to Leavenworth, unfortunately the max is 10 years and truth is, leak cases like this never really get solved.

I agree DJV "IF" there was a leak there should be jail time.
Let the punishment fit the crime.
---and while on that subject how much time do you think a woman abuser-perjury-impeached-disbarred-felon pardoning- criminal deserves????

IS THIS MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING --- OR VERY LITTLE?

IS THIS MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING --- OR VERY LITTLE?

By now you've heard all of the venting over this supposed Bush Administration leak of the name of a CIA spy to the media. The name of the supposed "spy" is Valerie Plame. She is the wife of a Clinton era Ambassador named Joseph Wilson. Wilson has made no bones in the past of his idolatry of Bill Clinton and his dislike for George Bush. Just bear that in mind.

Ambassador Wilson is the man who went to Niger to check out those rumors that Saddam was trying to buy more uranium. He reportedly told the Bush administration that he couldn't find anything to substantiate the charge. When Bush's infamous 16-words became such a big issue the Wilson name naturally became a part of the news.

While investigating this story columnist Robert Novak learned that Ambassador Wilson was married to a CIA employee named Valerie Plame. Novak talked to the CIA about Plame, and was asked not to use her name, but never told him that she was a CIA agent or was working undercover.

Here is what Novak wrote about Ambassador Wilson:

"... his wife, Valerie Plame, is an agency operative on weapons of mass destruction. Two senior administration officials told me Wilson's wife suggested sending him to Niger..."

The story now is that Plame was an undercover CIA agent, not merely an analyst, and that the Bush administration knowingly broke the law by revealing the name of a CIA agent to a civilian.

Democrats are obviously thrilled with this controversy. Perhaps their greatest White House enemy, other than the president, is Karl Rove. So ... they're trying to pin this whole thing on poor old Karl.

This whole controversy has been around since July, when the Novak column appeared. The Justice Department has been investigating the matter since that time. So ... why the sudden explosion of news over this incident? Has there been a late-breaking development? Is there really anything new to report? No, and no.

The reason you saw this thing explode in the media yesterday is because Democrats suddenly decided that this issue could be pushed for political advantage. A decision was made at some level in the Democratic hierarchy to launch a fusillade against Bush on this "naming a CIA agent" issue, and the eager media, aware of this story for months, eagerly jumped right in. It's almost as if some leftist media types contacted their buddies in the party and said "hey, this story has been around for months and we haven't been able to do a damned thing with it. If you folks would just start raising some hell we might be able to create a bit of a stir here."

Now ... how is this thing going to play out. We're eventually going to find out that Valerie Plame wasn't a CIA spy at all. She was a mere analyst who sat in an office going over paperwork and intelligence briefings. No harm, no foul ... but see if that ever gets reported in the mainstream media.

By the way ... Novak is saying that nobody in the Bush Administration called him to leak this information to him. Too late, the jackals are feeding.

Democrats can't find an issue..

Democrats can't find an issue..

So they are trying this CIA flap.I'm not going into this as Turfgrass has covered all the main points and with great accuracy..Listen folks, it's a political season and the Democrats short of bringing on Bullwinkle has now Gen.Clark and can't seem to gain any ground..They,Democrats haven't stopped blaming Bush of everything that can go and has gone wrong, will not stop..

Expect a resignation within the next couple of day's,if this came out of the White House..Notice, I said White House, this isn't what Novak said.Novak stated an adminstration official.. This means the gambit of the whole USA government departments or agencies..Democrats have skewd this to imply the White House and this is flatly false and distorted..

Democrats want this to be a polictical issue and I'm banking like with the economic issue and yes Iraq, will probably work in the Bush administration's favor..If you watch network or CNN you are only getting the half truths..It's like reading the New York Times..Remember the Times!!The paper with distorted truths and finally had to fire a slew of folks and their chief editors, because their liberial stance was the daily grain of this crapola rag and that it's only agenda was to promote liberial causes..Geez,if the gray lady can only see her beloved paper in such disgrace..They have lost all journalistic respect and can now join the tabloits on the supermarket at checkout,or in the outhouse..What a rag!!

It's a polictical season and California is the start of this great political arcade..

Have a good evening.

What the hell?? Did Dr. Freeze lose forget his password and have to open a new account or something? That post sounds frighteningly close to Freeze's standard, crazy rants that push his highly-disturbed views....

88% of Americans in two polls today say find the person and the President should see he is fired. And 74% said the Bush justice Dept should not do investigation. Most said that's like asking a brother to investigate his sister. Amen.

Sure, firing is in order..

Sure, firing is in order..

As far as the polls, well that doesn't mean squat..Depending on who carried out the polls, we will never really can accept that is what the people feel or demand as a whole..ABC ran a poll last night and that network is about as far left as you can go and is full of distortions and lies,so it's fair to say that their polls are slanted and totally bias as well as Fox polls which has a tendency to lean to the right..CNN with their Gallop is leaning to CNN viewers, which are liberial leaning so that really doesn't hold water as well..

Ok,now on to the investigation..As far as the justice department handling this is not a problem..First, allow me to say that the person that called for an investigation was a career legal attorney within the justice department and not Ashcroft..For you to think that a bias would exist because Ashcroft is Bush's appointee and a friend of Karl Rove is just BS and doesn't deserve a commit..One other thing about that..Career legal people within the justice department work independently from the department and to say that this will not be fair is saying that those folks can't do their jobs and is an insult to their profession..These people within the justice department are the same prosecutors that go after organize crime and drug dealers..So they are removed and can be fair in the initial stage..Now if a crime has been commited and then and only then will there be a special prosecutor assigned to this case to elevate this to the next level..When it's gets to the next level, then you will have a clean argument that a coverup or other misdevious going-ons ocurred..

Right now it appears that the far left and your favorite Democratic politicians have, what they think is an issue and will work this one until another one comes along...

As stated by Robert Novak, this thing has been distorted and taken completely out of what really transpired by his article..It just seems that when the Democrats build a case on BS and throw it to the wall, it happens to stick for a moment..The only fault we have here is that the Republicans can't seem to counter around all the throwing of this mud..

So stop listening to just one side and try to get the whole picture, you will come out a better informed individual..Even I listen to that left leaning crap so I can feel the whole arqument and understand that the left is only here to give you want you should hear, not want you are capable of understanding..

Socialism, which is the end result for the Democrats ideology, is tow the line and adhere to the thinking of the governing body, not what you as an individual may think or do..Remember the movie Solvent Green, well that is what you will end up as and the Democrats will not accept individualism and independent thinking...Why do they preach to the misinformed like they are all a bunch of idiots..Geez, for years Jessie Jackson has been doing just that and appears to work..Hell, they don't know what they are voting for or understand, but what Jessie says, they do..Heck in the courts on this punch card voting machine crap their telling the courts that the Blacks are a bunch of idiots (not in those words, but essentially is what they are saying),and they are not fairly represented..The ironic thing about this, many Blacks are accepting the fact they are dumb as doorknobs without realizing what is really being said on this issue. Is that fair by the Democrats to expound on such matters..No it's only racist when a Conservative mentions such a meaning,Democrats are just hypocrites.

Sure, boths sides have problems, but this stink about what has happened in Washington about the CIA leak will not amount to anything and in another couple of weeks it will be forgotten or maybe not..One thing for sure,it is politics and it is a political season and that is what it's all about..

The main stream press doesn't give the credit where credit is due..First the economy has turned around and now it needs to show employment, which is always a lagging or the last card shown..Iraq has many positive things happening and that you will never see on CNN or other left leaning medias..The left wants Bush to fail and will distort and lie at every turn, but he will get reelected..So now we have this flap on the CIA situation..Go figure..

Novak can just say who it was told him and the other reporter same thing. This hide behind. OH I cant tell you they will never talk to me again. Who cares, they with a little luck would be in jail.
Hey if nothing to hide someone should show some guts. The longer they play with it the more the President takes the the hit.
