Just curious to see where the MJ's crowd falls on this debate.

Are you in with Team Mozart or with Team Beethoven??

Please no I enjoy both of them repsonses, of course you do they are both undeniably two of the greatest masters of music to ever grace this earth. I just want to know if you had to pick one who you would choose & why.....

Got to go with Beethoven - although I think they are both great composers, Mozart is too rhythmical and unfeeling - as a pianist, he was no fun to play - like typing on a keyboard - his fugal style repeats the same things over and over... although I will say (as a violinist) that some of his symphonies are extremely beautiful and fun to play. But Beethoven was a romanticist and there is a lot more ebb and flow and feeling with his pieces - they are more open to the player's interpretation, and I like to be able to express myself or hear other's personal expression through the music, which is what he allows. Although very popular, Moonlight Sonata is still one of my favorite pieces, and Beethovens' symphonies are truly epic!

I wonder how many people here listen to classical music....? My favorite composer is Rachmaninoff... and of course I am partial to Chopin, who composed primarily for solo piano works - can't be beat in that respect.

Enough rambling...I could go on and on...just never realized some sports fans were also classical music fans! :SIB

Not even close. Mozart is the most brilliant and gifted composer that has lived. Piano concerto 21 is the best classical composition ever. Followed by the Marriage of Figaro.

And yes I listen to classical all the time. I also try to attend the Opera in Chicago for the marriage of figaro when ever possible. U all can laugh all u want but I have scored my pooooontang taking a woman to see a symphony or opera than any rock concert I have taken them too.

When I used to listen to the radio more often, I would often have NPR on and that helped expose me to a lot of classical music.

I'll take Wolfie over Beethoven, but my fave is Bach...easily.

I like it all from Baroque to Minimalism.
