Jim Leyland resigns as Mgr of the Tigers, after a very successful career as a Big League Manager, but will remain in the organization in another capacity, more than likely as an advisor/consultant on player development/acquistions.

Jim was a former minor leaguer who had a mediocre career as a player, but flourished as a Manager for the Pirates, Marlins and Tigers and won a World Series ring.

Hats off to Jim for a great career with the Tigers!!

Just saw a clip of the old argument with Barry Bonds in spring training. Classic and defined him as leader. Good guy with a great career and all of it with small to mid market teams so that gives him more credibility when comparing to other greats.
