he gets taken out of a 1-0 game with 2 runners on and Juan Acevedo gives up a 3-run homer to Karros. bye-bye 300.

I haven't seen many Yankees games lately, but maybe their current troubles go a little deeper than just some minor offensive hurts and starting inconsistency (not to mention the sub-par pen, after Rivera).
Not saying Torre is a detriment, but who would've had trouble managing this club these past years?

Bonehead pitching move, but I guess that's true now only in hindsight.

Sure would like a double-play here.
At least the Cubs have a decent pen, if it comes to that.

Wouldn't disappoint me one bit to see Clemens stuck on 299 FOREVER...

All has bad karma, bashing teamates, managers, etc...coming back to haunt him :thefinger

great point extrapolater, playing with a "full house" for a while, hard not to win in that situation. Poor decision today, one of many this season.

That was a flat out bad coaching move-- unless Roger was that sick he had nothing left. Clemens should never be taken out of a game he dominated like that. Love him or hate him, Clemons is a competitor and deserves to win or lose his own game. Take out a future Hall of Famer to put in a Detroit closer. Joe will learn-- his time is getting shorter in pin stripes.

I think Roger's health was bad. Freakin' lucky on the under.
Someone in here said something about the flu, or something, and the announcers said he (R.C.) would miss the post-game due to some kinda "respiratory infection."

Makes sense. Had to be some chit like that to be pulled.

Game of inches (that late non-double).
Saved my arse.
