This game is a matchup of teams headed in opposite directions IMO. Although Clemson is coming off a pitiful loss to the Demon Deacons, i see the Tigers coming out and playing very aggressive. I think they are headed in the right direction. NCSt is coming off the huge win at GT but i just don't see them as being very good, not having Rivers to "mask" the team and coaching deficiencies. Clemson put up good #'s against Miami and BC (although both losses) and I think they ran out of gas (and coaching) at WFU. I like Clemson getting the 6 (up from 4') Any thoughts?

homer play for me, but State does have momentum coming into the game...they have some hope after falling to 1-2..with the lucky win at GT taking them to 2-2, they can still do alot of damage...think Pack is past Philip...just hope Amato doesn't wear those shades at night
Clemson looked great to start the season off, but has faltered as of late...they will be ready on thursday, but its normally tough when you get the week break to "get into the game"

Looking at past years i think this will be a really good game -lowto med scoring. I think state wins 21-17 - -17-14 range. gl

That said, there are some reasons why betting Clemson is very good in this spot. 5 1/2 points is a lot, and that line will probably continue to move upward as people pound the homestanding Wolfpack.
Looking at Clemson's 5 games this year will show you something. Close wins over Texas A&M and Maryland, followed by overtime losses to BC and Miami. The Wake Forest game is a bit of an abhoration, as the Tigers always struggle against Wake Forest.
In my opinion, Clemson is the better team in this game. They won't be shaken by a big, rowdy crowd and have racked up some nice primetime wins over the past few years.
Clemson beat NCST last season with a team that is not nearly as good as this one. Should Clemson not win, I see no reason why NCST will be the first team to blow Clemson out. Solid defense plus the strong Clemson running game will keep the Tigers in this one, especially with the leadership of Charlie Whitehurst, who has been rock solid this season.
I look for this to go down to the wire. NC State has a good defense but an offense that relies on backyard plays and gimmicks. Tigers with an extra week to prepare won't be easily fooled.
