what do you value more? potential (or what he CAN do) .... or his recent outings (what he HAS done)?

because thats really what it comes down to.

in terms of stuff, the guy has the ability to go 7 or 8 dominant innings and be untouchable. he's got "ace" stuff for sure, but he's pitching like a AAA player right now.

his last 5 outings have been god awful, although he finally showed signs of snapping out of it in seattle, where he pitched really well despite the loss.

aside from getting smacked by oakland in cali two weeks ago, he has been solid on the road lately. so thats a plus. most of his struggles have come at home.

only problem is that robertson has been very very tough on indians hitters in his career. cleveland does not hit him well at all. so this one isnt all about sabathia. indians offense has to help him out.

what scares me is the potential letdown that could happen from the yanks series if the indians win tonight, which they SHOULD do with their de facto ace on the mound (millwood). indians could be coming into this one off a sweep and be flat.

id really take a hard look at the under. indians dont hit roberston well, theyll be coming in fresh off a big series against new york, and sabathia has been much better on the road than at home.

PROBABLY the best reason not to play Cleveland tomorrow in DETROIT would be a " let down " for The Injuns if they finish sweeping The Yankees Tonite Thursday.

also Detroit had a 1:05 start Thursday whereas Cleve has the 7;05 start andthen travel to Motown, albeit only a small travel distance.

Sabathia pitched much better in his last outing especially after the first couple innings.. indians should have swept tonight if it werent for wickman batting practice fastballs to arod and juiced up giambi... hafner looks good and now that martinez his hitting behind him the indians look like a solid play for tomorrow and the next couple weeks against sub .500 teams

What's the bigger let down factor?

1.The Sweep of the Yankees?
or
2. The Shoulda Been Sweep, and Losing the Game like that?

Also, aren't the Indians a club that doesn't hit lefties well? Also, the Indians are so 30 something and 1 this year when that score 6 or more?
I just don't see that happening tomorrow... I think the under is the play if you like the Indians, because I think they have to win a 4-3 game tomorrow, to win... not 8-6.
