Had some really weird shit happen last night.
--any diagnotics from medical people would be appreciated.

got sore throat a couple days ago nothing major but been taking antibiotic (Amoxycillin) chinese version.

Was hitting golf balls last night (very humid) and pulled muscle in back (minor) and took Naproxen (muscle relaxer) took shower sat down in chair and all of a sudden got shortness of breath and could feel pulse pounding in jugler veins--1st thought was maybe drug interaction and made it to frig to get some milk--by time I got there I dropped milk on floor (no grasp) and had to sit on floor-was 1st time I ever thought bout calling 911 and probably would have if I could have got to phone--in few minutes managed to make it to chair--was starting to feel better when I deveoped teeth chattering chills. Went and got blanket (walking fine now but weak) finally they subsided. By time I went to bed at 9 (this all occurred bout 3 hours prior) I felt pretty good. This morning I feel fine but did sweat a lot when sleeping as bed was soaked.

Feel normal today--any diagnosis's and should I go see Dr when I get back from golf trip?

left out something that might be important--

right after this occurred I looked in mirror and eyes were extremely blood shot--but by time I went to bed they had cleared up.

get it checked,my man.........i`m in the midst of trying to straighten out an issue....woke up a few weeks back with severe hip pain(once i got out of bed).....after stretching and fooling around with positions it went away in an hour or two......

but this cycle continues to happen...every morning......and it lingers a bit now...hip pain is debilitating( i`m not taking anything for the discomfort,i try not to take that stuff)..i should probably take an advil for the anti-inflammatory benefit...maybe i`ll start....thought i might have a kidney stone...

went and had a urinalysis and have trace amount of blood in urine(1-5)...was sent for an ultrasound and they said i had a mass the size of a plum on my left kidney!!....

doctor send me for another urinaysis and a ct scan on internal organs and the urinalysis comes back clean(cut out the aspirin in the interim)and the ct says that theres no mass...just a normal deviation in the kidney...i`m glad of that because renal cell carcinoma is a monster...

then i go for another ct on the hip and groin and,of course,my prostate`s enlarged(psa 1.4) i knew that....so they`re going to check it out...

they also found what they think is a cervical compression fracture(probably happened when i rented the dumpster and pulled out every shrub around the house and replanted the whole shebang a month ago)....throwing around alot of dirt(had a dumpster that you couldn`t open cause the door ws rusted shut,so i had to climb a ladder to dump all the dirt and rocks:rolleyes:)...

still working(the mornings are hell)and working out....

they aren`t seeing anything on the hip...maybe some nerves are compressed...hope it`s not the colon(had a colonoscopy 2 years ago,never even had a polyp...gonna get that checked,too).......

it`s hell gettin` older dude,no matter how much effort you put into taking care of yourself...go see the doc when you get home...and g.l.

Dogs- same thing used to happen to my ex. Never forget the first time, I was still in bed, she was in shower, heard her yell "help". Bolted in there and she was having some sort of seizure looking attack like you described. Turned out it was from low blood pressure and being in the shower/steam sent her body into some sort of fight/flight deal. Sounds really similar to what you described. I would just forgoe all showers while at Belterra.

Happened to her several times and scared me shitless every time.

Well called my docs nuruse and told her story and asked if I should make appoint for next week--she said come in now--so I did -
Just got back and Doc didn't seem overly concerned after his question answer series--
Had me take blood test and urine --no heart check- but just had ekg few months back in physical.

Said he call me this afternoon with blood test result.

I'm glad he's not too concerned--but I sure was last night--rarily go to Dr other than physical and would have prob dialed 911 at one point last night if I could have made it to phone.

Stevie I took both meds I took into Dr and he laughed about chinese meds--asked me if I got them mail order and told him wife loads up when we are in china--he was amused also when he ask me price of box of them and I told him 20 cents in U.S. currency.

Why are you taking Chinese medicine? Those crooks can't even make baby formula without poisoning it.

You want to hear a good one Stevie? You see this wonderful deal Walmart has for the 4 dollar prescriptions? They are from China put together by kids making minimum wages and no oversight. The drug companies just give them the ingredents and wallah we have to trust kids who make min wage. This is coming from a doctor who has had a few patients who are having bad problems with their meds and i witnessed one of them first hand. This is also coming from a doctor who has gotten an award from Clinton,Bush and Obama and sat in with Obama during health care talks. Almost like playin Russian Roullete.

Hmm, wouldn't it be nice if the price of our meds were in the same universe as the Chinese meds? But, I digress... (kind of joking)

Hope things work out ok, Wayne, I think it was smart to have it checked out. I remember my big scare a few years ago when I had an allergic reaction to penicillin, and woke up one morning and felt like I had a tennis ball in my throat, and could barely breathe. I made it to the clinic in time, but it's a good thing I woke up when I did... scared the shite out of my stepson, the wife was gone and he was freaked out.

Hang in there - you too, Weasel. It IS hell getting old, isn't it?

Chad curious to your allergic reaction--had you taken penicilllin previously and not been allergic but developed it later on?

My doctor called and could find nothing other than slightest trace of blood in urine which he said "could be slight infection" I know that was not responsible for episode last night --so only thing I can thing of is allergic reaction to one of the medications of which I had none previously.

Wayne, the guys here told me about this post, so I'm just now reading...

Glad u went to the doctor. My first thought was some kind of heart arrythmia, and that's still what I think. U said your EKG was fine a few months ago, so who knows?

Probably would be a good idea to keep an "event" calendar (in case this happens again) with date, times, precursors, how u feel, how it affected you, and take your pulse rate and note whether it is regular or irregular.

Hope u feel good enough to make it in the morning!
