DALLAS MAVERICKS -10 ? The Clippers playoff hopes probably came to an end with last night?s loss in Utah, that leaves then 5 games behind Utah with only 7 games left. This may be a demoralized young team tonight, which could spell b-l-o-w-o-u-t vs. this explosive Dallas team. The Mavs are 27-10 at home this year, averaging nearly 105 points in doing so. They don?t figure to let up since they are in a dogfight with the Spurs for the division title and the #2 seed that goes with it.

Who knows how the Clippers are going to react tonight? They're not officially out of the playoffs, but those games against Utah were absolutely crucial in order to make it in and catch the Jazz. Do they fold the tent and pack it in, or do they loosen up and go for broke knowing that they now have nothing to lose. I think the over might be a better play, as all three matchups this year have soared over the closing total.

I don't know what your handicapping experience is (seeing as how this is your first post here at MJ's), but I have lost an ass-load betting against teams that just fell out of playoff contention.

hildog,

Yes, this game could go easily Over, but the current total in the 210-211 range is just too inflated for my tastes. Besides, the Clippers have only gone over 100 once in the last 11 games, averaging only about 93.

As for how they will react, they are already showing signs of too many isolation plays, as some of the players would like to impress opposing scouts in an effort to escape Sterling's penny pinching antics. As bright a future as some people think this team has, the truth of the matter is that Olowokandi won't be back next year, and their other promising youngsters will follow suit in several years unless Sterling loosens the purse strings.

Also, congrats on Knicks and Nuggets.

Also, PACERS SUCK! Raptors may shock the world without Vince after all.

Good luck.
